Anyone temped by the Ulefone Power 3 4G Phablet on offer at the moment for only £165?

I've never really been temped by a Chinese phone before but for £165 anyone that missed out on the Lenovo P2 this looks like it might be a good alternative for battery life and better specced, only real negative for me is no NFC.

I've been looking at this along with the Oukitel K6. Which comes with a 6300mAh battery and is priced at £180. And it has NFC. But you could look at that as paying £15 for the use of NFC.

But if you are looking for serious epic battery, then you have these two: Doogee BL12000 and Doogee BL12000 Pro.

So many choices!! Really leaning close to the Oukitel though!

You don't want the Doogee's ... see the reviews on the Techtablets youtube channel.

Fake second camera modules and battery life (due to older Mediatek chipsets) which isn't that much better than say a Redmi Note 4 (and it's questionable whether they are lying about the size of the battery)

I have ordered a Xiaomi mi a1 to replace my old LG G4 after getting bored waiting for software updates as the G4 is stuck on Android 6. Will give a short review once it arrives.

I've still got the power 1 and was close to getting the 3 but no NFC put me off. Ended up going for the mate 10 pro.

Ulefone are OK in my experience but only expect a couple of security updates and 1 OS update. They advertise it as having oreo 8.1 but it actually ships with nougat BTW.

I think I'm just about to order a Xiaomi Mi A1, unless someone can suggest a better idea? I'm going for the 4GB/64GB version @ £161.07.

Also has anyone bought a descent case for this phone?

I received my Nubia M2 on Wednesday from Banggood so thought I'd give my first impressions. I'm not using it as my full time phone yet, as I'm waiting to get android set up exactly how I like before moving over from my Microsoft Lumia 950.

It cost $160, which converted to £119.74. It was labelled as an MP4 player with a value of $21.94 and I had to pay £11.27 as a Customs charge (£3.27 VAT and £8 for Royal Mail). Delivery took 10 days.

Key specs are:
  • Snapdragon 625
  • 4Gb RAM
  • 64Gb ROM
  • 5.5" 1080p AMOLED screen
  • Dual 13Mp rear camera
  • SD card slot
It was nicely packaged and the feel of the phone in hand and its build quality belies its price. It feels like a premium product. I bought it because of this review and I think I pretty accurately sums up the phone overall. The negatives are:
  • android 6.01
  • camera not as good as my Lumia
  • the calibration of the AMOLED screen is a bit dark
I hope that all these issues can be addressed/solved via software update because I'm more than happy with performance and build quality for ~£130.

That Nubia is a nice looking phone (and spec for the money) is there any chance it'll ever hit Nougat versioning?
Thinking of a replacement for my daughters ageing Galaxy Note 4. Doesnt seem to be much out there with a pen which she really likes with the Note series.
