January Transfer Window 2017/18

At the end of the day City just don't need Sanchez. The wages that are being discussed would mean someone on the bench is getting more than the first team. Why mess with that when so close to winning the title.

They could probably get a better, younger player in the summer without disturbing the flow of the team.

If he wants medals and money he should go to City in summer. If he wants to play and get money with a cup win here or there then either stay at Arsenal or go to united. He wouldn't win anything major at either though any time soon.

Exactly and the win for them is they can withdraw interest in a two horse race and United still get their pants pulled down and have a player on stupid wages which will have others knocking on the door.

No idea why United are even offering 400k with that transfer fee, who else is going to pay it? They could half that and still get him.

madness. Maybe its sanchez demanding 400k?

The money being talked about for him is insane and you can see why City have dropped out, doesn't improve them much (if at all) and would I believe be a detriment to the team, whereas Utd are desperate to make a statement and they overpay on most (if not all) transfers, not sure how he will fit at Utd as he doesn't seem interested in doing the leg work Jose demands from his players so could end up not playing and earning £400k a week (winner for him, not much so for Utd)

Personally, and as a United fan, I think if we get him at the quoted figures its an absolute bargain.

As long as Jose plays him in position he will slot right into the team and with plenty of BPL experience to bat as well. He is proven quality and its worth the 40m or so fee (chump change in the current market) to avoid City getting him and the melee in the summer if he is allowed to leave on a free.

We have to forget about the fact that he has 6 months remaining on his contract, in a market where the likes of Van Dijk is going for 75m then this is nothing to worry about. He will be cheaper than the money being touted about for Griezmann.

This season is a write off as far as the BPL is concerned. The interest is for next season because Lukaku just isn't coming up with the goods in the big games. The only issue I have with this is that it seemingly pushes Martial out of the starting 11, and I rate him!

This is where I think your main issue is as both Martial and Rashford will be held back (or at least one of them will be) and I think with a run of games and confidence shown in them they could easily eclipse Sanchez (not that Sanchez has been great for the last few months)

It genuinely guts me to see Rashford benched. He is a fantastic talent and one of the most exciting young players England has produced in recent years. Zero fear, lightning pace and with that seemingly rare ability to run at players and take them on.

Mourinho isnt known for investing in youth. Back when Ferguson did it with the 'class of '92' the premiership was a different animal altogether I question if Ferguson would have had the testicles and time to chuck unproven youth at the deep end like he did back then.

I can't believe people think City are going to run away with every competition for years to come. Not going to happen. Far better sides than them have failed to do it consistently.

As for the money, we are not Arsenal or other teams who need to thrift and penny pinch. Yes we overpay and at times lose out, but unlike other teams we can afford it.

It's not my money, if it means we have better players for the immediate future I am all for it. Enough has been spent over the years servicing various debts and other things, people shouldn't be bothered.

And it's not like you can just wait until the summer and get him on less wages and with no upfront fee, it doesn't work like that.

The longer this drags on the more I am concerned about Chelsea coming in, but I saw someone say Hazard is their top earner on £200k a week, is that true? I can't see them offering £300k+ to Sanchez in that case.

Not sure why he'd go to Chelsea over Man United given United are progressing and Chelsea regressing..... i'd say it's most likely a formality, especially if United are willing to get the cash out.

Not having to play for Mourinho must be a big plus, also London is great and Manchester isn't.

Just because Chelsea aren't going to win the league doesn't mean they're regressing...Man U haven't won it for a few years so they're no different really. Both have shed loads of money to spend and the London factor will probably be a biggy for Sanchez.

Great isn't the word i'd use for London, i'd take Manchester over it every day of the week. As for Mourinho, it's not like Conte isn't known for falling out with players.

They have less points this season, lost more games (at least on track to), aren't going to win the league, i'd personally suggest more at risk at missing out on top 4 than United. They're regressing imo.

We could sign Neymar and Messi for £20m and you'd still put a downer on it.

As I mentioned before, I also think despite any criticism he may get from fans/the media, players will still view him as a great manager to play for. He is still pretty much the most successful manager in the modern era.

Whether London is better or not (I'm no fan of it either), the wages would have to be very close for that to even be a factor.

Chelsea and Conte seem very volatile and I think their squad needs as much work as ours, if not more.

They're 3 points adrift and lost one more. Hardly stats to not warrant going to the club. Chelsea have and will always attract big players and pay mad wages too.
