GPU prices go boom

i have heard there are only two places that can fabricate gpu's and they are nowhere near keeping up

multi billion pound operation to build new factories

so no supply high demand = ridiculous prices

If bitcoin drops or even stays flat (looking quite likely) for a month then prepare for a flood of used cards on eBay. I'd expect GPU prices to crash hard in next few months...

It's been well and truly noted from me. And the silence from Gibbo or anyone else "official". It's dirty and they KNOW it's dirty. Their customer base is 99% gamers. yet they are shafting gamers to squeeze a tiny bit more out of miners. And they expect us to be there for them when and if this blows over? Hmmm.

This has been a thing for years and years at OC. At the slightest sniff of a chance they gouge stupidly (note the prices never come down as quickly when things go the other way). Unfortunately many just say it's a business or blame the manufacturer as an excuse when no one is saying they shouldn't make money. There is making money and then just taking the p***. As Roughneck said some people are just loyal to them like they are to AMD or Nvidia and will defend them whatever.

He's not "getting" anything until he cashes out. Until then the value could plummet to nothing. And all that electricity burned for nothing.
 
By the time a 2080ti comes out to replace my FE card they'll be £1700 :( I wonder how long my gaming can survive on one gpu. At least I bought the best gpu on launch but it is a worry for 2019 when I'm likely to need 50% more power from a single card.
