That's a pity. No way of improving it? Or is it simply not mission critical? I think we'd all love 4K footage of all launches and in the future, Moon and Mars.:p

It's pretty much everyone's gripe for all space stuff, why isn't there decent cameras on the mars explorers yada yada.

It simply isn't what the missions are sent up for, and weight is everything.

The more data they need to transmit the bigger the antenna, and that means more weight and more power. Also as the distance from the Earth increases, the time delay increases,so larger amounts of data would take ages to transmit in one go AFAIK.

Well, here's hoping it happens eventually. :p

Would be nice to see some 4K stills of Starman though! :)

Slowed the launch youtube video down to 0.25 and flipped through it frame by frame. One frame clear video of the platform, next obscured. Whatever happened, it happened quickly.

I thought the goal of this was to put into into permanent orbit around the sun, meaning it would occasioanly come very close to mars with a very very very slim chance of colliding with it?

Yeah it is, going out to Mars then will orbit the Sun forever.

It isn't in earth orbit, so is inconsequential. Unless you just want to have a whinge?
