Yep the lunar fly around mission is canceled.
They don't see the point in time and effort to human rate the heavy.
On better news the BFS (upper stage) should be ready for testing in 2019(add a year or two for Elon one), like the old grasshopper. So just short jumps.

Indeed, be nice if the Chinese decide to do a moon landing before though! Hopefully it would kick the space race up another notch.

sep speed of centre core around 9500kph, that similar to other f9 expendable ones.
i wonder if that's why they tried the 3 engine suicide landing burn into the ocean on the last f9.
