£100 cheaper here https://www.overclockers.co.uk/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1080ti-gaming-oc-11264mb-gddr5x-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-18v-gi.html
It's stuff like this that pains me.
I'd be fine with a £500 1180ti and a £400 1180, but even that is cloud cuckoo land these days.
The 1180 (non-ti) is probably going to be around £650 (1080ti price) if not more. The 1170 could well be £480.
In fact the price for both could be anywhere up to 20% more even than those inflated prices. This really is what crazytown looks like.
And yet there are a vocal group on here who defend those prices, because "PC Gaming Masterrace."

It's easy to pick and choose from specific generations to make a point.Given that the 8800 GTX and Ultra were $600 and $850 over 10 years ago, and looking at the crappy exchange rate we have now, what makes you think £500 for the top gaming card the ti is a reasonable expectation?

We've had several top end nVidia GPUs for £500 in the last few gens, haven't we. Before the Titan era. The 480, the 580, the 680... others. Actually they were both $499 so even with exchange rate differences would still only have to account for inflation, since the $:£ is not yet 1:1.
So what do you think is reasonable for the 1180 Ti then? I've said £500, you tell me where you think the boundary between genuinely good value for money and price gouging lies. But its not difficult to look at the competitive situation, the 480 was a disaster of a card, the 680 was the first time nvidia switched to using the ~400mm cards the x80 (so its comparable with the 980/1080 not the ti).
Also ignoring that US dollar prices dont include VAT so add on 20% plus extra shipping costs for UK and basically yes dollar to UK prices are 1:1 at the moment.

No that was the 9800 GTIt is worth noting the 9800GTX(+) wasn't really a top end card. Rebrand of an 8800GT from memory.

Tell us what you consider a "good price" for the 1180 Ti. And the 1180 whilst we're at it. Pluck a figure out of thin air that you think is a fair price and that nobody should have grounds to baulk at.
