Upgrade what I have or start fresh ?

Pretty sure I’ll be putting these in https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team...ual-channel-kit-red-light-thrd-my-08a-tg.html

But might just buy a really cheap 4gb stick so I can at least get it up and running until I order the decent memory. Would this be ok ?

latter are Laptop ram .

but the team group should be fine , specially as its two stick and not 4- more sticks you have, more strain on the CPU's Memory controller

1700 Ryzen fitted

I’m confused on fans. My board has 3 or 4 fan connections but also 1 RGB connection. The stock processor fan has two wires, one to the cpu connection on the board and another that goes to the RGB on the board.

I want to add 3 RGB fans (NZXT probably), can I connect them all to the RGB on the board and use msi software to control them all ? Or will I need a hub of some sort ?

I would like to be able to control the colours and speeds all in one program if possible.

nzxt use their own , corsair as well. why i use Phanteks Halo fan covers, use any fan you want and they mount over the top-daisy chain to each other and connect to the rgb header with Phanteks adapter cable.
havent experienced msi grb controller though

So for example I could use bequiet fans with the covers you mentioned and daisy chain it all from the one RGB connection on the mb ?

yep, fans connect to the mobo directly

covers bolt over the top of the fans, as you can see in the picture. front fans have them bolted to the exhaust side, top fans have them bolted to the intake side

pic above had 5 linked together from one header- bequiet fans, groove sin the blades so nice effect

Will I only need the one ?

I'll have the AMD stock processor fan and 3 other fans, two on the bottom and one at the rear.

Need one just for the Phanteks units. If you want to include your CPU cooler and don't have two RGB headers on the board, you'll need a splitter , which you'll youg into the board to connect the cooler and then the Phanteks adaptor cable

I would like to change the graphics card purely for aesthetics ! Currently using a R9 200, I can't really find much info on but I'd like something that has red on it. Doesn't have to be anything special as I won't be gaming, maybe even an older used model would do ?
