Only Windows 7 x64 systems patched with the 2018-01 or 2018-02 patches are vulnerable. If your system isn't patched since December 2017 or if it's patched with the 2018-03 patches or later it will be secure.

This is why I never rush with updates. I haven't had any updates since December.

I just knew there was a reason I just made sure I was using a browser patched against it and avoided OS/BIOS updates.

Still no Spectre fix for Haswell on either of our Gigabyte or Asus boards and I doubt that we will ever get one.

Should be, depends on the release date of the bios you have installed. See if there is a change log/notes on the MB vendors site .

Checked the bios release and it was 2017/03/14, the last microcode update was on the 9th of this month, will that include everything to date?

Unlikely as the microcode updates started this year

No, just the latest released bios. But until there is one you wont have the relevent updates.

Gigabyte ga z170mx, there is a microcode update from 30/06/2017 then 01/12/2017 and the las one was 09/03/2018

Cool, i already have them all(just incase)on usb in a folder called BIOS do i just restart and ez qflash from within the bios?
