Got the update done and just tried star wars battlefront 2, gameplay still freezes at random turned vsync on too. Did nothing ...
Unlikely that a bios update would fix that type of issue, I would be looking toward driver/game/OS problems first
Don't the combination of OS patch and BIOS in some cases have some random freezing issues? I've not followed that side closely.
Still no Spectre fix for Haswell on either of our Gigabyte or Asus boards and I doubt that we will ever get one.
None for me either on an Asus x99-A, very surprised, as a popular board by all accounts, like the DELUXE, they only have 2x x99 mobos on the list for the BIOS update, the ROG STRIX, and the ROG RAMPAGE V EDITION 10, a very poor show.

Because Intel won't produce the patch or Gigabyte won't bother creating a BIOS update implementing the patch?Not necessarily.
The latter, probably. In that case you can inject the microcode into the latest BIOS and reflash manually.Because Intel won't produce the patch or Gigabyte won't bother creating a BIOS update implementing the patch?
Updated Intel guidance detailing which CPUs they are not bothering to fix. Namely;
Bloomfield
Clarksfield
Gulftown
Harpertown
Jasper Forest
Penryn
SoFIA 3GR
Wolfdale
Yorkfield
