Good lease deals on less than great cars

Been seeing S4 deals everywhere. Seemed too good to be true in a lot of cases. If I wasn't stuck in a current agreement I'd have been all over it :(

Have I done my spreadsheet/figures/man maths right?

If so, it looks like going for the 20k per year option works out the cheapest.

Offer type: Personal Contract Hire

Mileage per annum: 8000/10000/15000/20000

Model: new Skoda Octavia 2.0TDi CR vRS DSG Hatch. Solid Paint. Corrida Red with Black Pack Plus and a Spare Wheel.

Initial rental: £2490

23 X Monthly rentals of £267/£273/£306/£338

All quoted figures include VAT. There are no additional admin fees. Road Fund Licence is included for the entire period of the agreement.

Excess mileage over the 16000/20000/30000/40000 total would be charged at 8.4p per mile. So if, for example, the car's mileage was 20000/24000/34000/44000 when it is due for return - then the excess mileage charge payable would be £336.

I know it's silly to choose options and in an ideal world I wouln't, however the above spec is in Germany and can be with me within 5 weeks. I don't really want to wait for a factory order.

The vRS seems a solid car, sure I don't get the fancy active display or adaptive cruise, but then it's quite a bit cheaper compared to a GTD plus they're actually available.

Yeah their prices for higher mileage seem very reasonable so if you are definitely going to be doing that then it would make sense to go with the higher mileage deals.

If there's a chance it could all change round again in 12 months and you wouldn't have to do much driving then maybe go with a lower number and risk an overpayment?

Famous last words but I’ll be there for a number of years.

Hi guys was just wondering when you are looking at leasing a car do you go to dealerships just to test drive them before even though you have no intension of buying?. I' currently looking at prices of the vw tiguan

That's what we did when considering a Tiguan. VW themselves offer pretty good leasing deals.

Do you reckon vw would match the leasing deal I have found as I'm guessing there only a broker
If VWFS are the funder, the business side of the dealership should be able to match it without any admin fees.

If it's funded by an external source (eg. Arval, Alphabet) then usually the dealer wouldn't have access to the deal.

I know you have opted for 20k miles but those numbers are a hefty price to pay compared to what was available 6 months ago.

By comparison, for the VRS 245 DSG with 10k miles per year I am paying £1807 initial and £190 per month with no fee.

I've seen Simpsons mentioned a lot and they were always considerably more than lease companies when I was looking. For that kind of price I'd be looking at a high spec superb if you want to stick with Skoda.

Not always the case, I rang around 15 different Skoda dealers and only 1 could match the dealer price and they had to charge me a fee too but I'd rather order direct from the dealer. Some of the quotes I were getting were ridiculous, twice the price on the monthly payments with the same initial payment and they just shrugged when I asked why it was so much more expensive.
