BMW M2 competition, what do you think?

With all the changes they've made on the Competition Pack, I thought they would sell it alongside the standard M2, make it a limited run off and add at least 10-15k onto it. I can't believe that they have only made it £2.5k more expensive than the old one, but i guess this positive side of manufacturers being able to use things from a parts bin. Most of it is just bringing over stuff from the M4.

If I had just bought a brand new standard M2, I think I'd be feeling a little miffed A) because I could have waited and got a plethora of upgrades from the CS, and B) because this is likely to hit the residuals of the standard M2 pretty hard.

I think if you could live with 2 doors, the rear seat space, and you have £50k to spend on a car, it looks like a great option.
You'd be seriously annoyed if you'd recently bought one of the old ones.
I'm surprised it isn't more expensive, but maybe that's to try and keep space between it and M3 / M4.

So you can currently buy a BMW 2 series with three different 3.0 turbo petrol options?

And people say the BMW brand is diluted...

As for the car - it's stunning. But it should've been the car that was released originally. As Gaygle said, how miffed would you be if you'd just ordered an N55 M2.

Stunning car. It'll look even better in long beach blue.

Selfishly I hope this does happen. I've already seen well optioned 1 year old M2 LCI DCT's for £38-39k on BMW AUC. Any lower and it's going to turn a bargain into an absolute steal.

Well it's not going to stay at that price for long

I said not looking my ago I was left very underwhelmed after test driving an M2 (having stepped straight out of my M135i) and one of the main issues for me was the engine.

Sure, it looks amazing, but I felt the premium over the M235i just wasn’t justified. Hopefully the M2C (with the engine it should have had from day 1) will make much more sense.

I'd consider a M235i, do you think they will hold their current value ?

M135i pre facelift is definitely cheaper to buy though.

Doubt it.

Values aren't going to plummet, but they'll likely go the way of the E82 135i.

When the M235i came out it was relatively special, but now there are two technically superior models.

It's turned into the equivilent 330Ci of the E46 age.

Very nice package on the whole, cannot believe the price either relatively speaking.

If I could live with the 2 doors/ rear space I would seriously consider one of these...

Driver error.

Ultimately it's always driver error, but aren't M4s well known for having high amounts of torque low down in the rev range which caused issues putting the power down? Isn't this one of the things the competition pack rectified?

To be fair the 135i prices are quite dear, especially compared to a 130i. I guess it comes down to it being a coupe and better looking, also seems to be less m235i for sale compared to the m135i.

Comp Pack doesn't so much rectify it as the changes make it easier to control the slide

More fun too
