Children’s designer clothes

Dont really give a monkeys what my kids wear. :p

Most of the brands mentioned are just faux middle class chav/high street though, hardly designer.

Yeah that’s true, I’m only asking where to get them from.
but Its not like I’m buying him a £500 Versace tshirt.
just think it’s nice to have nice things and if you can afford it then why not.

I think you went over the top once the words hugo boss kicked in for me, yes indeed dress the kids in nice clothes if trendy, but it seems to me like you are showing a trophy to everyone, not saying dress the child in rags lol, it reminds of the guy in the thread we bought buys his boy tons and tons of lego and action figures, his boy will grow up to be a right pain in the arse just because his father is a show off, i demand more tiger tokens from esso springs to mind :D

well that is the problem... if you can afford it then why is your wife questioning the price and why are you looking to save money... by afford it I guess you simply mean you're able to pay for it without taking out a loan, but that in itself isn't necessarily a good idea as it really seems like a sub optimal use of cash - the wife complaining certainly doesn't indicate you being on some big shot banker-esq level of income.

your kid doesn't care about designer clothes/won't derive any benefit from it, most other people won't care (though, as per the reactions in here, some might actually cringe a little)...

I'd save the money if I were you and put it towards something else for your kid when he can better appreciate it. If you're blowing a few grand a pop on baby clothes that you're regularly replacing then that sort of amount invested now and compounded over the next couple of decades + whatever else you've put aside in the ISA each year could cover uni fees + living expenses, fat deposit on a first house/flat, wedding paid in full and skiing holidays every year in your kid(s) 20s etc... (good excuse for them to keep on going on family holidays if dad is happy to blow a few grand a year on skiing)

There’s no problem at all I was just asking around if anyone knew of cheap places to get kids designer clothes that was all, I work offshore and earn a good wage, nice house, nice car, go on 2 family holidays a year, pay Into an isa for the boy for when he’s older he can choose what he wants to do with it allbeit house or car.

Wife doesn’t complain just thinks it’s a waste of money;)

Everyone likes a bargain especially me no matter how much or little you earn.

Anyway.......I realise this was the wrong place to ask.

We inherited a leather jacket 3rd hand from someone when my little girl was 2. I had no idea how expensive it was until we handed it down to my sisters sprog and she asked how much it cost. I think it was something like a “Chloe” and she had clocked the name. Anyway as she teased me for spending a fortune I looked up how much it cost new and the ranges they did were between around 350-1000 for toddler jackets! Utterly bonkers

I remember buying a load of Ralph Lauren polo shirts for my son when he was like 6 months old, think he wore them a couple of times each before they didn't fit him again.

Yeah...didn't do that again

Don't listen to everyone else OP. I too was mocked at school for being the poor kid and it still hurts. Everyone else had holiday homes in the Caribbean yet we only had in the south of France, it was relentless. :(

You mean lot, leave the OP and his swag baby alone.

That was your mistake, I mean if you'd have asked how you could improve his processor speed or whether it might be worth installing an SSD into him then you would have been golden.

Bahahahaha! You peasant! I bet your butler doesn't even have his own butler!

Same lesson learned. We used to buy him loads of designer baby stuff until we realised most of it still had tags on and hadn't even been worn.

Try Debenhams when they have a sale on, they sometimes have good kids brands at decent prices. M&M Direct was ok too, not used them in ages but they had decent offers. Brown Bag I think was another one the wife used but I cant really comment on them as I never used them myself.

OP asked for advice on how to find clothes for his child....gets judged.

The guy wants advice, he can buy his child whatever brand of clothes he wants tbh.

Had a look on hotukdeals ? Sure there will be a deal on somewhere.

Thank guys I’ll have a look at all these places tonight,

I’ll keep this forum for all my computer/IT questions I still have a lot of them up my sleeve:D:D

children’s designer clothes are a no go haha!

It is throwing money away. Why does a baby/toddler need designer clothes?

It's so that the narcissistic parents (usually the female of the species) can plaster photos of their kids all over Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / Pinterest / Patreon / deviantART / lolwut? without the consent of the child.

My daughter has a few ralph lauren dresses because i like them...to suggest the above is utter tripe.

Have a word.

Correct!
The only social media I have is ocuk and my wife would never think of putting pictures of our child on the Internet because we both know and are aware of the possibilities of the Internet and you never know who is looking

If you want quality children's clothes, then Next is where you should be looking.

Designer != Quality

Next is good many of my clothes are next

If I were to join the judgemental on here I would say this. So long as spending long term on designer clothes for toddlers and kids doesn't mean you will be saying something like this later, what the hell if it gives you a buzz? :

"We can't afford to send our child to a private school, but it has been the best dressed kid wallowing in Slopton in the Slush Comprehensive for the last three years"

;) Priorities, priorities.... But from what David says they are not struggling so luxuries and priorities presumably can go hand in hand, good luck to them!

My mother in law worked in Oxfam - she would snaffle all the nice nearly new kids stuff and we'd get first dibs at buying it.

The result was a wardrobe full of really nice clothes for crazy low prices.

Kids grow so fast that a winter top bought for a child can end up never worn as it only fits them in summer !

Charity shops are amazing for childrens clothes.
