What PC games are you playing?

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom pain. I never played any of the MGS games before and picked this up at Xmas however after playing the Ground Zeroes 'demo' that came with it, I though it was a bit meh and didn't bother with the main game until this week. Actually really enjoying the main game now though and what an intro that was!

Best intro ever.

I've gone back to Far Cry 2 and Bad Company 2 to try and recapture that essence i felt when i played those two games, as my gaming has been lacklustre for many years.

To add on to this.

Recently completed Secret of Monkey Island, installed Crysis 1, Just Cause 2 and bought Ruiner.

Just bought ruiner too, looks like it might be spot on for some sofa gaming.

Currently playing Turmoil, which is a little gem.

And Rust. Always Rust.
Just started playing Ruiner too. Really enjoying it after initially worrying I was going to suck at the combat but utilising the power ups and not's not so bad, I seem to be getting high scores for the combat situations so far. Don't think I could sit back on the sofa for this one though, wouldn't you benefit from being closer to the screen in the combat situations when there is a lot going on? Maybe I'm too long away from sitting on the couch that it feels quite alien to me now...

Edit: Spoke too soon! Just died around 20 times trying to defeat a boss in Level 2. He has a grenade launcher - 1 hit at point blank range is enough to wipe you out so I think the tactic is to try and fight him at range and use the obstacles to try and skirt round him - almost had him there. It's not that frustrating though, the gameplay is such that you want to keep trying.

I’ve not played it yet, so I was just guessing. Is it controller friendly?

I look for any excuse to use the TV these days, we’ve got recliners with usb chargers built in, it’s bloody heaven.

I’ve also been popping into Rise : Son of Rome, it’s nice to kick back with some mindless hack and slash.

I am currently playing the following games on my PC.

Empire total war with the darthmod installed and playing as the united states. I am at war with the ottomans winning the war and I decimated the Barbary states. Thousands of camel riding fanatics killed many of my commanders but I got revenge when I brought artillery specifically horse artillery to their capital and showed them a lesson in fighting a superior force.

I am also playing company of heroes the original one with the blitzkrieg mod installed. I am having issues with this mod though lots of unit stuttering so I am considering changing it for another mod. Problem is the mod itself is amazing. Very realistic and brutal.

Sounds like an awesome set up you've got there right enough. A controller would be essential for this game I would think. Whilst I play most games with the m & kb, I didn't even attempt it with this game - it's one of those games designed with a controller in mind I think. The hardest bit to master for me is using the right stick to ensure you are facing the enemy, in the heat of battle the most damage I take it usually dashing into an enemy facing the wrong direction and therefore taking a hit - it does add to the challenge though.

Rise Son of Rome was a great game - I really enjoyed the story too. I might just have a replay myself now you've put it in to my head...

Prey. I barely get time to play it so taking me months! However I got on for hour so last night, it's great and has best world since bioshock for me

It was on sale last night and I nearly bought it but I've spent a truckload in the past few days already. :(

Assassin's Creed Black Flag

Only played a III for a couple of hours so this is kind of my first proper bash at the series. If honest I think I'm enjoying the sea bits more than anything on land.

Have you played with mods? It can easily become mental :D
I didn't realise their were mods for it, must investigate... I have to admit that after PC gaming for 5 years, the only time I've looked for mods is to either force ultra wide resolution or restore censored content. I just never think to look for them.

I'm playing The Turing Test. I'm enjoying it, but it's far easier than I had expected. Hmmm, maybe that means I'm not a robot...
