Visa flopping ffs

Fair enough. But I can't say I find myself getting angry at people who write things like that. They're morons if they are acting like it's the end of the world when it's a minor inconvenience/annoyance at best.

It's Friday afternoon here, I'm hung over and cranky, I admit, I went a little over the top in my initial post.

I need a beer. I need a cold larger in a proper pub :(

Everyone going on about Apple pay and Android, surely there is a delay in taking your money? Much like paying pa the pump?

This explains the huge queue at the petrol station yesterday. Contactless not working, and card got declined twice.

Is this effecting Visa Debit or Visa only? Used my Lloyds card in Tesco last night via contactless and it worked first time.

Sat in a restaurant and everyone is being told it’s cash only, must be a pretty big problem if it’s affecting all of the EU
Wonder how that works, barely anyone pays cash at a restaurant and presumably don’t have it on them. The restaurant can’t hold people to ransom, so free meals?

Apple Pay is instant.

Like any contactless payment.

I ask for a pint. They bring said pint, with card machine. I double tap my home button and hover my phone over the machine. Instant payment and I walk off with my pint :p the whole process is much quicker than paying by cash

I'm old enough to remember when the only way to pay for most things was cash and the only way to get cash was to go into a bank between 09:30 and 15:30 monday to friday only (unless it was a bank holiday, when the banks would be closed) or keep it from your wage packet (which was a literal packet with cash in it).

Eh, when I were a lad.

I remember as well - my first wage packet had £2-6s-0p in it - 1959 - now all my money is printed out on a sheet and it means nothing at all. It is probably why most people are in debt- they are spending nothing in effect - not same as handing over half of money in your pay packet.

It affected my visa debit card. Ordered something at macdonalds last night via a machine and it declined my card. Checked the account this morning and it's showing up as a pending transaction.
