What PC games are you playing?

That's next on my list, Witcher 3. I've only read good reports on here...although I only got about 20% of the way into the last Dragon Age before I lost interest.

I did the same thing, but played Witcher 3 first. The main game play difference you'll find is that DAI feelings like a grind, where as W3 feels like one epic story, nothing you do feels like 'oh no not another blah blah quest'.

That’s the one (Inquisition). I couldn’t remember what it was called... it started off really well, to be fair, but I lost interest after Skyhold was acquired.

I’ll get onto W3 this weekend I think.

Flippin' eck. This Crones of Crookback Bog stuff in the Witcher 3 is giving me the willies. Not been spooked like this since Alien Isolation.

Love all the British accents in this game though. Wonder what the rest of the world think of Welsh witches. LOL. Makes me think Cyberpunk will have to ditch all the Brits and go for mostly Americans seeing as it's set in California.

Friend and I have just started Destiny 2 as we got it in the humble monthly last month and then the DLC was on offer for a really good price. Only a tiny bit of the way in but really enjoying it so far.

Thinking of playing STALKER Clear Sky as never played the sequels, any mods I should consider?

https://www.moddb.com/games/stalker-clear-sky/downloads#downloadsbrowse

There's a list of about five pages there, though the ones which I can recall liking are:

Mire;

The Warmongers;

Mystery;

Sky Reclamation Project (small mod but makes some very nice gameplay changes);

OGSM 1.8;

Yoctosfera (decent enough mod but a bit heavy with the bloom and saturation IMO);

Clear Sky Mod Pack;

Clear Sky Complete (nowadays, it's considered rather outdated compared to almost all the others but I enjoyed it);

I should add that the one that I think I've been most impressed with out of the above selection probably would be OGSM 1.8, but if you haven't much experience of CS mods then I think you'll likely enjoy pretty much any of them.

I'm also in the middle of trying one of the newer mods (CS Last Fallout), though it's too early to make a call on that. The sound appears to be solid, though.

Just tried Hitman: Blood Money. had fun with the first hour or so then came to realise there is a steam bug on the first mission puts an invisible wall up meaning you cant escape using the stealth method....

Apparently its something to do with modern systems having too much fps and not being able to squeeze between small spaces which makes a few stealth options.....not an option anymore. So i uninstalled :(

Shame it looked like a promising game.

Fallout New Vegas.

Had it in my steam library for ages but never really gave it much of a look. It's so well liked though that I'm determined to give it a proper go.

Single player campaign of Total Warhammer 2 (improved mechanics in a few places, I like), Multiplayer co-op campaign of the same (also very good, "gift units" option in battles now so you aren't stuck watching your partner play).
Frostpunk, kinda got the hang of the early game, not bad
Battletech - still got the sandbox to play in
Quake Champions - like old Quake, pretty decent
PUBG - standard wee fallback amongst my wee group

Divinity 2 on the playlist when I get time :)
Phoenix Point bought, looking forward to that going live.

You should, it's probably the best one for story. Mechanics wise, FO3 has a TINY edge to it.
It's kinda annoying there's no perfect fallout in the FP engine.
FO3 was light on story/dialogue.
FO:NV was light on mechanics/gunplay (but probably my favourite still).
FO4 was super light on story. It's more like an FPS with some RPG after-thoughts.

Hopefully 3rd time the charm for a Bethesda in-house studio to nail it with FO:76.

I couldn't get Fallout 3 to work properly on 2 previous machines with constant crashes and don't hear good things about it with modern computers. Vegas any good in technical respect?

Interesting, cheers. Do you recommend following the quests or exploring freely? I believe the game accomodates both approaches and modifies the quests/storylines if for example the player takes out a key character.

I won't go on, as everyone knows by now that New Vegas is my favourite game of all time, and imo definitely the greatest RPG ever made, but you mention it is light on mechanics when it is by far the most complex of all the games(survival mode from the start, more stats, more branching quests and consequences, stats that actuslly impact dialogue and quests, weapon mods etc and a whole host of stuff 3 didn't have) and the gunplay is far superior to 3. 3 didn't even have iron sights!

Anyway yes, play New Vegas. It is awesome!... And play the dlc too!:)
