I used a trackball up until last year. Was a great improvement swapping out to an optical mouse and decent mouse pad(large).

Must admit I was surprised "a mouse is a mouse" as far as I was concerned to those that told me otherwise

Nothing wrong with my aim, I’ve tried using different mice to play with but could never get used to them, trackball is 100x easier to aim.

I use inverted axis for flying games, but never for FPS.

In Battlefield, I just map space-bar to 'climb' for planes.

if you think about it its just a keystroke to do something. it does seem odd i never do it but i guess others do.

Not at all! Up should be up and down should be down unless it’s anything todo with flying.

Just doesn’t seem intutitive to have inverted in an FPS game. Do you also have Desktop inverted???

I think it probably comes from the fact that I used to play a huge amount of flight sims on my old Atari ST.
I don't have my desktop inverted, but I do have 2 monitors and have it set that I move my mouse off the edge of the right screen in order to get to the left edge of the left screen. That is a little strange I'll admit.
