France got very lucky throughout the tournament - the OG against Australia saw them sneak the win. Took an undeserved lead against Belgium through an OG, and then sat back. Today they were 2-1 at half time, despite only having one shot on target - a contentious penalty - and also the beneficiary of yet another OG.

That said, they're tremendously organised and that's been able to see them through many of these games.

I think France have been the best team overall, I can't think of anyone who looked stronger throughout. Scary how young they are too, plenty of time left for this team.

It was a handball and France smashed them anyway (Even gifted them a goal).

France were hands down the best team in the World Cup.

England have a long way to go to reach that level.

The best teams pass fast and shoot fast. They don’t dither.

BBC just showed a great angle of Griezmann going down before the Croatia player was anywhere near him.

Great final, Croatia's performance made me feel less bad about losing to them and also made me realise France would have properly battered us if we had managed to scrape through

I don't think there's any doubt that that was a dive and the free kick shouldn't have been given.

To me and many others France are deserved winners. Croatia were unlucky with the penalty going against them but let’s be honest France scored 2 lovely goals from open play

. Whereas Croatia scored one and were gifted a second by Lloris.

Easier to score when you've been gifted two goals and the opposition has to chase the game.

So France won by virtue of the two refereeing mistakes, then?

Belgium have played much better football than France throughout. Can't really recall France playing especially well just being really well.drilled defensively.

And as I said, it's easier when the opposition has to chase the game, especially because of bad decisions.

IMO the most undeserving champions for a long, long time. They've played poorly or very poorly throughout the tournament. Belgium were a better team, Croatia certainly played better in this game.

Yes occasionally they get things wrong, of course they do they are just human.

But now with the introduction of VAR (and with the caveat of making a few changes and getting it operated correctly) most if not all incorrect decisions should now get looked at and changed if necessary.

So following that there should be almost zero occasions of any incorrect decisions.

Look at Rugby, when TMO is in use, almost zero incorrect decision, and definitely far far less wrong ones than before its introduction.
