FIFA World Cup 2018 - Final [15 July] **spoilers**

Yes occasionally they get things wrong, of course they do they are just human.

But now with the introduction of VAR (and with the caveat of making a few changes and getting it operated correctly) most if not all incorrect decisions should now get looked at and changed if necessary.

So following that there should be almost zero occasions of any incorrect decisions.

Look at Rugby, when TMO is in use, almost zero incorrect decision, and definitely far far less wrong ones than before its introduction.
Bit late for Croatia. How do you account for the ref(s) looking at VAR to be as bad as some at this World Cup, though?

Football is nowhere near rugby in making effective use of the technology.

Football seems to go out of its way to ensure that controversy is still part of the game. Mainly because the guys at the top like it that way.

Rain adds a nice touch, epic slide from Mendy :D

Got to hand it to Russia, they got a lot of **** before the tournament started but they've put on a good show.

They didn't light up the group stages but after their route to the final and the performance today they're much deserved winners. The penalty was a little harsh but you can't really argue when his palm was facing outward to be honest.

Congrats France and to think they had players like Dembele and Lemar on the bench.. not to mention the exclusion of Martial.

Liverpool legend and worlds best defender dejan lovren is the first player to lose both UCL final and world cup final in a span of 50 days ...the guy is going to win nothing. If you ever feel sad about yourself, just remember that Dejan Lovren has lost 4 finals in a row, Capital one Cup, Europa league final, Champions League final and the World Cup Final.
