Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Now is a good chance for AMD to capitalise on this price gouging imo bring out a cheap as **** solid car that smashes the 1080ti ....

I honestly hope AMD bow out of PC graphics and let Intel fight em.

It's a proper mugs game now. Nvidia will use all these insane profit margins for R&D and will be even harder to fight next gen.

AMD have better things to do, CPU, Server and console.

Let someone else fight Nvidia in PC graphics. Let the Nvidia fans enjoy the monopoly and prices that go with it.

I have a genuine feeling the 2080ti will smash current gen Ti but I cannot make any decisions with that sort of money until I know for sure.

That and I’d be without a card till middle of September

I’m out for now

anyone noticed with the 2070 it has no nvlink for (sli) is that like a 1060 but with a stupid £570 price tag

SLI is dead, has been for years and no sign this is going to change this gen or next. It shouldn't be a consideration for purchase... unless you have money to burn, in which case go for a 2080Ti which will achieve FAR FAR FAR better performance for the same price as x2 2070s.

I think it will be about 20% faster than the 1080 Ti, a bit disappointing for the money.

All I have to say is R.I.P PC Gaming...

I said this a few generations back soon the normal prices will be £1000+ for a GPU that use to cost half the price or less and people then also complained about the price. People said will not happen, well here we are...

Well keep buying keep getting screwed.. Even Samsung has jumped on this bandwagon Apple started, Intel added to and Nvidia well was always testing the waters as far as they could, from the re-badging mid range to high end and so on.. The 2080Ti is not their top chip people.. Don't be fooled that should have been the 2080 and the 2080 the 2070.. Give it 8 or so months or a year and the real 2080Ti will appear.

Anyways I'm out and tired of this silliness with the hardware now. They can keep them and rather waste my money on better hobbies.

Heads up no benchmarks because they are not much faster in your current games, this RTX is another gimp works in action. This is why they will not compare current titles on it that don't have RTX support.

Yup been saying it myself for the past few years now but people just refuse to accept it.

As usual, the only ones to blame though is the customers........

I hear the GTX 2050 is a beast, performs like a GTX 1060 and only costs £350 at launch.

For the budget minded, the GTX 2030 is the one to look out for boys, no performance improvements to speak off but only £200 !!.

The way it's meant to be played.
We're already approaching the limits of silicon.

You never know, in future we may have to pay an annual fee for driver updates; we may even have to rent the cards rather than buy them.

We're not talking about the distant future... after 7nm there may only be 1 more shrink possible.

IMO without benchmarks you just ruin the event. My interest peaked today, I don't feel any hype anymore, neither I want to bother refreshing this page constantly as I did the past week.

Keep my 1080 I think, I bet if I turned my pc on now it will still play all my games so non issue for me.
And who plays bf for the graphics, don't you put the settings at low to get the advantage of better frames and less clutter.

why isn't Nvidia doing the normal 2080 release, bleed as much from that as possible then 6 months later the 2080ti release to bleed some more cash, why all together like this?

benchmarks please?

Prices Are Insane. Thats finally done it. My time in PC gaming is over. Thx Nvidia.

I'm quite content to soldier on with my 1080ti, it's coping fine with everything I do and I would have upgraded to 2080ti just because I could, not because I had to.

Like a lot of people who frequent this forum, I have the disposable funds to buy a 2080ti... But I'm not doing it, the boundary has been stretched too far. I actually baulked a bit at paying £850 for my 1080ti and EK block but now I'm glad I invested when I did... And I'm glad I got the extended 5 year warranty!

Seriously, who's going to be throwing £1200 at a GPU? I'll be interested to see the ROH in the owners thread. :)

What I found concerning is that in the demos, some of the non-RTX effects looked worse than I have seen elsewhere in other games(the Metro demo was a prime example),almost like there it was
emphasise the RTX effects. OFC,I will reserve final judgment until I see them in an actual game, but something feels familar about all of this.
They did the exact same thing with physx rendering.

Remember your history :)

if the 2080 has soild performance against the 1080 ti i may look at 2*2080's but at over a 1k for the ti screw you nvidia i'm a pc fan boy but for god sake and as others have said at these kind of prices you've efectivly squeezed out the masses from owning one, effectively killing the market.

we need some benchmarks to find out if the 3 cards announced are faster than their counterparts
You probably better just buying 1 ti as it’s probably faster than 2 2080.

I’ve gone for the cheapest 2080, a gigabyte card for £715. I want to try the rtx stuff, wouldn’t bother if I had 1080ti but didn’t think the £700 was worth it over my 1080 at the time.
