Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

So a couple months back there were all these stories flitting around about lots of overstock on Pascal gpus. Now we get this huge price hike and a long pre-order period... coincidence? I think not!

Seriously though this does seem like a great way to sell a lot of Pascal cards :p

The world doesn't really work like that. Just because people can spank money without a second thought doesn't mean they have a mindset to do that or have completely given up on value for money.
Exactly this.

A pound is still a pound. There is a surprising amount of meaning in that statement.

Anyone else get the impression there's an "ultra" that's yet to be released? With them basically blowing their load showing the "full" lineup I get the impression that there's a possibility of an ultra card appearing. Used to be the waiting game for the ti card, that's not the case with this launch, so could well have another varient waiting in the wings.

They’ve done enough damage for now :D

Wonder when NV share price starts to drop LOL

The PS4 Pro is far from unbearable for me. Actually it's been pretty damn awesome. And I only paid £200 for it, all in, with two gamepads and 3 games. New price.

The PS5 will be a decent jump in performance, with Zen+Navi inside. At 1080p it'll be 60FPS solid.

Those of us baulking at £800 for a GPU are probably mostly on 1080p btw, so missing 4K@144Hz isn't a deal-breaker.

Also I've been a PC gamer since 1991. The idea that PC gamers would be unable to deal with any game running below 60FPS is just lol-worthy. Sounds more like a technophile than a gamer.

We'll all be playing console games, regardless. You'll play console games on a £3k PC; I'll play console games on a PS5 :p
That's a good find at that price. You know well that even with Ryzen cpu [easily capable of 60fps] in ps5 devs will still target 30fps, so that it can come close to pc visuals in multiplats. I do admit that difference is very small in most games in graphics unless you put them side by side - you're right on that and some sony exclusives can look absolutely fantastic as well, but if I had to put up with stuttering laggy blurfest that is 30fps, and not even stable at that in every multiplat game, than surely would rather stop gaming altogether.

Can you imagine if Ford did this in the car industry, a Focus would cost £60k.

I remember paying £450 for a high end GPU and thinking it was expensive but Nvidia have just continually take the **** out of their customers.

Anyone buying this... congrats, Nvidia has had your pants down :P

No ultra but looking at the 2080 Ti PCB there will be a Titan version with 5120 SP cores, 384 bit bus, 12GB of GDDR6.

Price around £1450 is my guess.
