Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Look at when Ray Tracing is off while they are showing the reflections on the car. It's not a simple Ray Tracing on/off, is Ray Tracing On vs reflections set at their lowest detail level.
That shot around 4 mins is pretty ropey, the two cars on the left of the street have no effect on the road beneath them.

Yeah, I was thinking that too.

I wonder if Dice are going to be paid to change their settings so that the reflections are terrible unless you have RT on... Something to think about.

I can't help but feel the 2080 will not be much, if any faster than a 1080Ti given the specs. Yet it's a fair amount more expensive.

The 2080Ti looks like a monster but not as monstrous as the price :o.

Some indication on lead times for AIB cards would be nice, when you can... Tech specs on whether voltage is locked like pascal by the GPU also :)
We can't publish the tech stuff on voltage etc.

I mean look at the last gen and the attitude nvidia has to OC its not difficult to draw your own conclusions.

Given the predictions of modest performance gains outside of ray tracing and the apparently large stocks of 10xx cards, which are still better than what 95% of gamers have any use for, this generation might exist purely to get as much money as possible out of early adopters to ray tracing games and people who just have to have a l33t rig in their signature before 7nm arrives. The prices are high because the small target market will pay it. The 21xx will be the mass market series and prices will drop to somewhere between the 10xx and 20xx pricing, which will be hailed as a victory for common sense and the power of the consumer even though we’re still paying more.

Reference it is then, I thought you were against drawing our own conclusions ;)

Is there an NDA date?

Yeah a lot of the specs I'm wagering personally are based on power draw within the confines of what we're used to, so 120% TDP limit. I'm not expecting liberal overclocking simply because the reference cards are sporting a slightly bigger vrm.

It's fine if you're able to concoct a realistic one lol :D
