Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

The difference was bigger than that 1080 was 20% faster, 1080ti was 25% faster than 1080, those benchmarks you linked many of them are cpu limited or whatever.

Still I've got a 1080 which replaced my 980ti so a 2080ti is going to be a massive improvement. Probably twice the speed with the new tech on top.

No we are talking specifically about real world FPS increases as the latest leak is based on real world FPS increases not synthetic benchmarks. The link I provided is for FPS real world performance.

38% increase is not significant, it's bare minimum expected
But you're also forgetting :

Well yes, but if your sample includes WOW, LOL, WOT then its likely these titles won't clearly demonstrate the increase well as they already run without a hitch on current hardware.

Nobody will be spending a grand on a 2080ti to improve performance in those titles.

+1 I've had 980ti 1080 and 1st Gen titan xp and a 1080 ti will be 50%+ faster when both oc

From that BS review 1 thing in difference from mins to max fps that would feel horrible to play as mins are not to far a head but max is almost double. I call BS

I think what’s happening is that people are justifiably frustrated with the dramatic price increase, and are allowing it to colour their opinions of the product itself.

For me, the two matters are entirely different arguments.

If the benchmarks are accurate, it’s a great product and a worthy successor. But that doesn’t mean I think it justifies the ridiculous price increase.

1080 ti is now £600, 2080 ti is £1100! Foxing insane !!
Got to admit that 1080 Ti price seems good on the face of it, but would you buy one now? I wouldn't. Depends what people are curently using I suppose. Hopefully 20** prices do drop a bit later next year (combination £ rising, NV reducing prices a bit)

I’d love to no how much RD goes into these things for them to cost the ££££ they are charging for it . Yes new tech is great if priced right but not at rip of prices .

well let's not forget the approx 90% cost increase!

1080 ti vs 2080 ti
if you shop for the cheapest blower style 2080ti then the percentage increase is closer to 45% but still expensive over last gen.
going for the cream of the crop 2080ti from asus and the percentage increase is a wopping 105% ouch

If I was going to buy one it would have been a while ago, but until recently I've never seen them at £600. Even at launch they were £750 for a reasonable one and since then have been as high as £900+. I'm terrible for blowing cash on GPU's but 1080ti has always seemed to me to be terrible value for money over a 1080.

Really...?

980 Ti vs 1080 Ti FPS increase - 24% ( http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1080-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti/3918vs3439 ) so quite literally a 56% increase in gen to gen performance over previous gen...
Posting links to the 1080 Ti being benchmarked at 1080p is absolutely pointless. The 1080 Ti is heavily CPU bottlenecked in most games at 1080p. There is simply no CPU fast enough to properly feed it at that resolution. And that's simple to prove using the same games even at 1440p, using your "real FPS" metric via Techpowerup's review.

Userbenchmark has the 1080 Ti as 34% faster in The Witcher 3. At 1440p it's 85.2% faster.

Userbenchmark has the 1080 Ti as 33% faster in Battlefield 1. At 1440p it's 80.76% faster.

Userbenchmark has the 1080 Ti as 40% faster in GTA V. At 1440p it's 81.84% faster.

And those are the more graphically-demanding titles, before you even get into the truly absurd notion of benchmarking the 1080 Ti in the likes of CS:GO, League of Legends and World of Warcraft at 1080p. Userbenchmark's comparison is utter nonsense and the 1080 Ti is inherently crippled in any set of 1080p results. It is quite literally too fast for 1080p, at least paired with current CPU technology.
