Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

So what would be the point of them giving benchmarks if you're not going to believe them?
Benchmarks would let ppl see wot they are paying the hard earned cash on but with the benchies ppl might have second opinions.and that’s why there isn’t any cos if ppl seen them they would not buy it .

This is all going to move fast. New cards next year easy. With double the rays etc. Its a revolutionary step that will have lots of evolution over the coming months and years.

If your up for that then enjoy it . If youre not then you're in limbo waiting till you buy, but still enjoying what you have.

It's win win really, I think.

Personally I'm choosing to wait for the next iterarion, they'll already be working on it in a lab somewhere keeping their best product engineers busy.

Yea 1080ti won't be worth a piece of toast once this takes off

Agreed. Sit an wait if it's too expensive. Don't stetch your self financially for something that is going to just get better very quickly.

I think it's going to move so fast that the 2080ti will likely be an rtx bottleneck pretty quickly.

Nice pefomance better than my 970 how reliable is this site with this info and how did it break the nda question and answer time ...

How can the 2080 be a doorstop? it’s not even out yet. People say the silliest things here on OCUK forums. This is a fact though, The 10 series days are numbered

Because it takes time to implement this tech into games, if the game is in early stages it can easily be a few years before it can be added to the list of supporting games. So by the time ray tracing is getting industry wide adoption or IF it gets industry wide adoption these cards will be old news. Simple as that.

That’s a given though. It’s like that with every GPU mate. Nothing lasts forever.

TBH I'd rather spend the extra £300 for another 30%+ improvement in speed, current architecture, RTX cores, Tensor cores etc etc. I'd just stick with my 1080 rather than buy a 1080ti I think they are still quite expensive for a card that's been on the market so long it will be EOL soon.
It's this stupid logic. Why something long on marked NEEDS/SHOULD go down in price ?? Petrol is on marked fordecades and its going up and up !!! Cigaretes are on market for decades and going up and up. Honda civic Type R used to be 17000 now 30000. You could have gotten house for 50k now looking at 80k+.
Everything went up (besides wages)
So can You tell me WHY it should be cheaper than it was when it came out when pound lost over 20% value since 2015 ??

Erm what is your point?

For a start none of those examples is even close to comparable to tech like gpus

Petrol is a finite resource so yes as the amount of oil left on the planet depletes then the cost of a product based on that will go up

Cigarettes increase in price is mainly down to taxes added by government.

Houses generally appreciate in value due to cost of land and demand outstripping supply

So I'm not really sure how any of these compare to a gpu except perhaps cars but they do drop in price when a newer model gets released

I was going to avoid this thread, but this did tickle me.

Interested why You and many think 1080ti should go down in price in courent state of econiomy around the world when everything is going up. Card did not lost any performance there is ZERO competition to the card since it came out and is/was selling good all the time.

So I would like to hear an logical explanation why company would cut down theirs profit margin??

So
