Is the NVidia RTX performance even worse than previously reported?

I rekon the 2080ti will be something like 15-20% faster than a 1080ti. Kinda shady they use so much HDR In the benchmarks to make the 2080 pull away so much but that's always the case with vendor own benchmarks, they want to show the card in the best light possible.

Don't believe anything until you see something from a fully independent source. Some of the "reviewers" are suspected of being on the take, like Toms Hardware.

xD

I already have an upscaler in my Xbox One X, has Freesync too !! Could buy 3 of X1X's for the cost of a single 2080 Ti pmsl.

Nvidia can keep ray tracing, up-scaling and over priced tech thank you very much..

No qualms with those willing to pony up the cash mind, keep em warm for me. I'll see you on MM in the future xD

So if I bought an Xbox One X would it work with my 3440x1440 Freesync monitor, use Freesync and take advantage of LFC when needed?

The current competition to beat is Pascal so they haven't really got a choice.

1080p 60fps won't be acceptable to all those with 4k, 1440p, UW etc... screens, as no way in hell would i run mine at 1080p, id either have to have massive black bars down the sides, or the image stretched to fill, as got a 35" 3440x1440 UW, it'll look **** running 1080p on it.

If it costs a grand~ to play at 1920x1080 I think the world must have gone full retard.

Hang on, I'll admit I pretty much completely lost interest in these new cards as soon as they were announced, and I haven't been paying too much attention to them. However, what's all this talk about 1080p? Is there some sort of restriction on resolution or something?

Who's going to pay £1,000+ for 1080p gaming? I must be misunderstanding, surely?

The demos were apparently running at 1080p since the monitors used were identified. And at 1080p the 2080 Ti struggled to sustain 60fps.

I'm totally bemused at that. Who in their right mind wants to pay over a grand for 2013's resolution and performance? If RT is restricting resolution to 1920*1080 it's literally a massive leap back the way. For what, shiny surfaces?

Mental.

1080p DSR x4 0% smoothing would spank RT all day long on a high hertz monitor i have had Rocket League at 4K 240hz thats the future not 30fps RT.

I wish people would think before knocking 1080p its actually superior to 1440p due to the versatility. :p

I'd love to believe that, but my eyes beg to differ. :p

Well at 4k you will not be doing a raw x4 upsample like 1080p so 1440p image is scaled and blurred. Not to mention the lower hz on 1440p panels means more blur. If what i said was not true do you think i would be waiting with 350 in the bank and not buy a 1440p panel?

Its useless in games with no aa. Nvidia added this AI antialiasing for a reason no games have aa and 1440p needs it badly. The only place 1440p wins is in a straight up no aa shootout but who plays like that? Its a bad stop gap of a resolution because if the above happens your screwed you wont be able to downsample and will get left behind by an upscaled monitor which simply decides to run at 4k.

It's different a bit like a dominoes meteor Vs a real Italian job.
One is loads of candy going bang but each piece is low quality the other skimps a bit but each thing is balanced and high quality.
It might make sense in a couple of genres but I prefer med high 4k to 1080 maxxed.
However i love to add that shadow and reflection quality are the first things people drop to increase frame rate

I imagine you will be able to play at 4k, having most of the scene rendered at 4k using rasterization, while the RTX effects are rendered at 1080p then upscaled to 4k.
