**** The Official Pocophone F1 Thread ****

I agree but I think it's initially designed for the Indian market where NFC isn't very widely used, either that and/or cost saving exercise.
Regarding the incapability of playing Netflix and Amazon in HD, will it do Youtube in HD and FHD just fine?

just seen the MKBHD review debating on selling my OPO 5T for this, or wait out for the Pixel/OPO 6T. Looks awesome value though.

He also showed the phone playing Youtube in 1080p HDR which is good news, not that i didn't believe you :p

I'm going to order this phone from EGlobal, £285 delivered isn't bad at all. :)
But he didn't show it playing Netflix in 1080p because it can't :p:D

I'd get one of these in a flash if it had NFC, crazy it doesn't really.

Yeah kinda a frustrating omission, but as already mentioned it was fundamentally designed to be a performance to dollar phone for the Indian market where NFC is not really a big thing yet, and things like Netflix HD, NFC etc were amongst the corners that were cut to deliver what is fundamentally a very very solid device, and probably the best price to performance phone right now, as it mimics most of the core functionality of $500-600+ phones.

The MKB Review above basically virtually exactly mimics my thought process, the guy seems to follow my line in thinkings on phones a lot.

It's kinda like building a PC with the top core specs, but things like average screen, bog standard case, more average RAM etc have been used so corners have been cut, but most of the important components are good.

From the MIUI link above, it actually looks like they're investigating whether they can resolve the Widevine issue as well, which would make this an even better phone.

WHo here really has the eyes sight to tell the difference of 540p over 1080p on a small 6in screen? You would have to have crazy good eye sight and holding the phone right opposite your face to notice it.
Bot that I could stand to watch more than a short YT video on a small screen anyways.
