Has anyone got a BC discount code for CRC they won't use this month I could have please? I tried to use mine on an order and their website has cocked up and "expired" my code. It looks like it might be quicker to borrow a code than get it reissued!

Yes but without the premium.
The drysuit seals sound interesting.

The boots are these and I have the same model in MTB flavour. I've only really worn the MTB shoes a couple of times. I was a bit disappointed with how wet the inside got when splashing around some trails but I still kept warm... that's the thing I'm pretty sure the water must have entered through the top. The other foot was dry.
The times I've used them that's how my feet have always got wet - never through the boots!

I originally started with a pair of MTB, Northwave Celsius' and sold them to Solid (which DPD promptly lost on the way to him!), I'd already replaced them with Sidi Hydro (when going to 3 bolt) but could never quite get comfortable in them so have been meaning to sell them (they sized up a little large so the tongues would end up folded over at the side leading to a pressure point). I picked up a set of Northwave Fahrenheit this summer but not worn or even fitted cleats to them yet.

I managed in thick socks and overshoes last winter which was probably the longest & coldest winter we've had for a while, but I think the only reason I didn't dig the hydro back out as although it was cold, it wasn't particularly wet! :)

If you've got an early start this morning like me, you might need the winter warmer gear... Winter has arrived on the south coast overnight!
Yup, cold here too! 4 degrees but bright and clear.

Actually wore leg warmers for the first time this autumn and my go to fleecy windproof top (Sportful R&D Wind Jersey) and thermal hat! Almost needed my thicker gloves! :o

Same here, this morning with it being that bit colder I did think mmm should get them set up. Will hopefully sell my old battered ones when it gets cold! All about supply and demand!

Only knee warmers here this morning by the time I left. Warm in the sun though.

Planning to cycle in tomorrow which is meant to be similar temps to this morning - 2.5c  Would normally be winter boots & 3/4 or full length bibs for that but coming home in 15c will mean overheating.

Anyone got any suggestions on a winter beater frame? I have a spare set of wheels, gears, seat, bars, stem. Unsure whether or not to go disc as I that would mean buying new wheels as well.

It was 3 degrees out this morning. Full winter gear scrambled into action. Quite nice once the sun came out but I'd prefer it a bit warmer!

Dolan did have a marked (reduced from £329 to £199) RDX alloy disc frameset (including headset & seat post) in 56cm but somehow it ended up in my garage  :D

There's a couple of very small paint chips on the frame, so perfect for a winter hack and commuter (has mounts for guards and a rack).

PX London Road is £299 as another disc option.

Cold starting out this morning but a beautiful morning to be riding

Damn cold one this morning, 1-3 degrees here. Cars with frozen windscreens and fog the closer to the river I got with the wind getting colder as I dropped out of the sun. Brr! Glad I dug out the winter gloves in preparation. Full thermals and could've done 2 layers, but didn't as I had enough to carry in the afternoons already...

That's not really winter hack money though, I would ideally be shelling out as little as possible (think £200).
Fair enough, Chinese carbon an option? Can get a lot for your money going that way. Else PX/Ribble/Genesis as already mentioned.

So if anyone knows of any bargain components going, please do let me know (I'm keeping an eye on eBay). Would prefer hydraulic rather than cable discs, though the biggest cost seems to be the hydraulic levers. What are TRP Spyres like for cable discs?

I've got an old FSA 10 speed chainset that would fit, but my spare wheels have a 11 cassette. Merlin have a non-groupset RS510 11 speed chainset for £59 so I think might as well go with 11 speed from the off.

Anyone got any recommendations for a rack? Axiom have a model for £45 which fits rim/disc frames with & without eyelets, so I could try it on my PX until the Dolan is finished.

I had also spotted some Axiom Monsoon Hydracore panniers on eBay at a really good price but they've disappeared.

Oh, and the hotel gym I joined is shutting the mans changing room for two weeks from Monday for a refurb. It is a bit tired but it means no shower, so no cycling in. Pfff.

I've got a set of 10speed ultegra shifters and derailleurs I have just sitting around - clearly used but plenty of life left in them 6600 i believe is the model. Trust me if you want to know any more
