I don't think so, the type of person who'd typically buy a new Skoda Superb (or any new car, for that matter) wouldn't touch such a heavily modified example with a barge pole. :)
Unfortunately money thrown in at a car is never really recovered. I'm not questioning how much you spent, the problem is that you can get similar power by spending a lot less. Sure, there is a premium for having something unique and reliable, but only those who modify in the first place bear the full cost of it :(.
 
unfortunately that's not the way it works on Autotrader, you can not pass on your expenses to a seller because all he sees is a ``NORMAL`` Skoda with 20k miles on the clock that's way too expensive..........he might not see 560hp in the advert because he's already hit the return button, or not even opened up the link.

Autotrader is for a penny wise methodical person, its search criteria is set up for this type, he is comparing cars in a long list, he's only interested in price/mileage.

your advert is in the wrong place, it needs to be in race cars on Pistonheads etc, because this is where your target viewer WILL LOOK for a performance car.

Don't get me wrong, your car is brilliant and I admire you for putting so much effort and money in getting it to where it is now.

I just honestly don't think most people would consider paying £35k for a used car that can be had £30k brand new, regardless of performance modifications that went into it.

It's really unique, and I'm sure you would have more luck and interest by advertising it on Pistonheads, as that's where a lot of rare cars are to be found and the community is more likely to appreciate the money you've put into it.
 
try ``Racecarsdirect``....................there's not much on Pistonheads because most race cars will be listed under car manufacturer only. but yours under Skoda on Pistonheads is still far easier to find than the confusing maze of Autotrader....your car is buried somewhere in there but i couldn't find it.
 
I know of an e60 M5 owner who took it over to Germany and had numerous mods done on it to the tune of €25k, the end result was an absolute animal of a car that would destroy pretty much all comers.

When he eventually sold it, he got half the value of the modifications added, never mind the value of the car in the first place, simply, nobody wanted it.

He’s now got a G30 M5 - and can afford to not care about such fiscal hits - he’s not modded it yet (but is way into doing so) but freely concedes he’ll take a huge bath once it comes to selling it on....

It’s an epic thing the OP’s car, and should fetch what he wants, the reality is though it won’t unless he finds a nutter with more money than sense with a panchayat for fast Skoda’s....
 
I was wondering when the comments would start coming, didn't want to be the first to mention things tbh.
Don't get me wrong, its and awesome car (bar colour choices) but the price is simply too high

Unfortunately there's some mental discounts on brand new 280s, I was looking and went thru carwow to see what I'd get for my money.
The answer was a shedtonne lol, the highest discount I was offered on a superb was 19.9% on the sportline and 18.9% on the L+K
This type of discount really isn't helping resale value in my eyes, Id also have my choice of extras, colours and interior

On top of that I think you're being a bit to hopeful to just add on the cost of what you've spent on mods, you never recoup these fully on resale, most would be lucky to get 50%.
Most people if its a bolt on mod will remove and sell separate, of course in most instances that would also mean yet again another remap.
With any modded car I'd also expect the original parts to be provided as well in case I did want to go back to stock

Even with the car being the L+K there's very likely a few additional extras everyone would want, common ones seem to be Assisted smart lighting, window blinds, the hidden tow bar looks awesome for the money as well among others I've probably missed.

You've then got the vehicle and interior colour, I know people that love silver cars, I know people that hate them I im the latter haha) and beige aint for everyone.
Warranties on new cars are awesome and for only a few hundred you can extend the warranty.

You've also compared the car price wise to a brand new one, sorry this isn't brand new, has no warranty and AFAIK there's been changes on all of the Skoda specs too.

So working against you:

Huge discounts buying new
No choice on options
Lack of colour choice (internal)
Lack of colour choice (external)
No Warranty (would a 3rd party even offer a warranty on a car so heavily modified)
Relying one someone that was planning on exact same mods buying this car to save a bit money on mods.
The potential for things to go all kinds of wrong and the buyer wouldn't have any comeback as its being sold privately
Perhaps even concern for MOT passing

Personally I reckon if yer offered north of 25K you're doing well
 
Estimated standard value of the car is just under 20k. 35k adds 15k which is just under half of what he mods cost. Apologies but don't really have the time to reply to all other comments :)

How far off are the current offers?

It's a real shame you can't keep the car. If I was in your position and dropped this kind of dollar on mods I would have decided from the outset to keep it permanently. Otherwise I would have modded with the intention of returning to stock.
