Skoda Superb III 4x4 280 - A sleeper’s journey – 280ps to 560ps

You seem quite keen for him to accept the existing offers, have you thrown in a cheeky £25k bid that you want him to accept? :p

nah just experience of selling stuff second hand.

i just sold £2K worth of gym equipment for £400. i knocked back a £400 offer a year ago and i've never got anything better.

this is all stuff made of metal. not as if there is a motor that can go wrong. so stuff built to last literally forever. £2K and i got £400 which is less than 25% of what i paid. this is a car which has 1000 different things which can go wrong and has no warranty. if he has a few offers he's mulling over he really should accept. because with a car a year later it will have definetely lost money unlike my equipment which is built to last hundreds of years.

looks like our man has more than one modded car

Apples and oranges, it's a rather modified car with literally double the power from factory.

The price of a new one is irrelevant and you can't simply compare it to that.
People looking at new cars aren't going to be in the market for this now are they?

This car will always be in the hands of an enthusiast whichever way you look at it.

I don't think £35k is unrealistic at all.. Sure it will take a while to sell at that price point, but it's certainly achievable, I've seen first hand what people will pay for the right cars with the right bits on them.

How many Skoda enthusiasts do you know with £35K in their pockets?

Why so against it being a Skoda? OP could have started with a VW Arteon instead and aside from the badges and some styling differences it'd be 98% the same car

Plenty of people want a car that is nothing more than a point and squirt straight line missile. For £35k you can either have a nearly 10 year old 50,000 mile GT-R, or you can have this Superb.
They're identical in performance (In fact the Superb is probably a little bit quicker), you get a better interior in the Skoda, and its a practical, usable day to day car when all is said and done

haha you can litterally buy a nissan gtr for that kinda money. which is ten times as quick. no one is paying 35 g for a skoda period.

slight exaggeration but come on whos paying 35,000 for a modded skoda when you can buy a 200mph gtr ? for same money. no one.

the car is great but it aint 35k great. who seriously with 35k to spend is paying it for a skoda ? 35k buys you a lot of car. big german power cars nissan gtr. you wont pick a skoda. you dont have to agree. just being honest. stick to my game reviews i driven most of the cars you dream about lol.

Well I've run an 11.1@126 so its not beating me. ;)

The guy in the SVR held it on brake with throttle, thats a big no no, he also did not have the car in VMAX mode so I suspect he also did not soften up the suspension either, all of which are worth a couple of tenths.
I've run a lot of 1/4 miles in mine and discovered the optimal settings and hence me having a PB of 11.1@126 which is quicker than that missile of an estate the Merc. :)

NO IT AINT :- Acceleration times dropped a full second to 11.3 seconds in the quarter-mile and zero-to-60 mph was 3.3 seconds with the aggressive launch; speed increased slightly to 121.7 mph. Nissan's Robinson said a hint of rear spin produces the GT-R's best times and that the traction compound a drag strip uses could bog the car from a stop. Bogging was a non-issue and we consistently ran in the 11.3-11.4-second range.

and this is the latest GTR thing, so it's about the same speed as the Skoda BUT the GTR is a hell of a lot more expensive.

you can buy a litchfield gtr for 35k. its not more expensive when the skodas sale price is 35k. personally id buy for 35k the gtr.faster in everyway. more tuneable easy to tune better looking. 550-600bhp in the gtr will net you 11s quarter mile.which isnt anything special for the gtr.

nothing wrong with the skoda really enjoyed the project reading about it watching the livinglifefast video on it . is the abarth yours aswell ? your cars neat.very quick.

If I was buying a GTR I'd be spending around 50k on a used example to be honest to get a later revision model as a lot of improvements were made to the car to make it a more enjoyable and daily experience.
Yes if its just a weekend toy, then there are some Stage 1/2 Litchfield tuned cars for 35-40k, but they'd be slower or no faster than the Skoda in 1/4 mile and under 100mph anyway.

Considering there is a few GTR owners here all with Litchfield maps ranging from 1-5 and all have done Santa Pod, they are all running 11.1 - 11.7s quarter miles and I think this Skoda has run an 11.6s quarter mile which when it comes to acceleration is up there with the GTR.
Yes throw in some corners, a track and the Skoda would have no chance simply as the GTR is much better sorted handling and braking wise.

I guess it depends what you want, if I had 35k burning a hole in my pocket for a fun, fast weekend car then yes I'd take a 35k GTR over a 35k Skoda for sure, but of course the GTR will cost vastly more to run than a modified Skoda.

But don't under estimate the performance of any car with the 2.0 VAG unit when combined with DSG, they can accelerate very quickly indeed, my Golf was a mere Stage 2 with just 370HP, but it could hit 60 in around 3.3s, 0-100 in around 7.7s and quarter mile in high elevens, pretty much GTR performance in a little hatch and on the road, particular a wet road a GTR could not keep up, simply because the Golf R was silly easy to drive fast, fact it was so light was a factor. On a track however the Golf R would not keep up, its suspension was too soft and its brakes in adequate, though of course if someone was willing to strip one out, big brakes, coilovers would no doubt be quite a handy bit of kit.

We all like different things, I could have spent my 80-100k on something else, but after driving so much stuff the SVR is such a superb all rounder. :)

oh i know what you can do with the golfs and the DSG. they are amazingly fast.the engines pretty sweat and easy to tune .,

there has been a few decent gtrs going about for 35k is in the last few weeks. few been looking at them recently. couple 600-700 bhp. 550bhp should with a great driver do 11 secs 1/4. the skoda cant do that close and very fast still cant do that. not only that thats a stage 1 tune. costs 1 grand.to take to 590. many already have it done as its so easy.

not knocking the car as i said its amazing whats been done to it but i cant see him getting 35,000 for it. too many other great cars in that range . what id do and i understand what hes been doing to sell the car. make threads on it get it on popular videos and such. contact skoda social media . if they have any sense they may feature it. or put on social media.

good luck with the sale.
