Got me a new car!

KT is the local registration prefix often assigned to cars registered by Mercedes UK.

It's the code for Northampton so cars registered new to dealers local to that area will also have that prefix but the vast majority will be ex Mercedes UK cars. Same deal with BMW And YG/YK etc and Vauxhall with DN.

Thank you! I will double check and make sure I'm not being lied too. If it turns out I'm the third owner or it's had a couple of thousand miles being ragged around by the press/young sales guys then I'm wanting some cash off. I asked specifically about this car and its ownership as the first car from them I looked at was a demo car, but they assured me this one I bought has always been owned by the first buyer which was a guy from 'oop norf'

Looks brilliant! I had a C43 Coupe for a month when my car got driven into on the way to work. Absolutely fantastic car, could get some decent MPG on a motorway jaunt if I wasn't booting it around but with that exhaust flap button always there, that didn't happen often!

Look forward to seeing more pics!

Love a fast German estate! Lot's to like about the C43 also, but I'm afraid the infotainment system isn't one :/ It looks *so* dated and "blocky". I genuinely prefer my 2009 BMW CIC iDrive to a 2017 Mercedes COMAND system. Hell, I'd massively prefer the Ford SYNC 3 system in a Mondeo over it.

Very disappointing for a premium manufacturer

Similar to a lot of JLR vehicles on OU or OV plates registered in Oxfordshire.

Anyway, nice C43, they sound fantastic. What size engine does it have?

Lovely colour and spec. Mine isn't as well specced and is Polar White (which I like more than I thought I would). I don't have the exhaust either (which I know is supposed to be THE most important option) but coming from a list of 4-pot 2.0T cars, the 3.0 V6 still sounds good to me.

Fuel economy on the motorway is decent (35mpg) but rubbish around town (struggle to get 20mpg on my commute) but the performance and grip in all conditions is fantastic. The only thing to watch, which is well documented, is 'crabbing' when at slow speed and full lock in cold conditions (eg. now!) - the front wheels will skip slightly. Not as big an issue as the internet would make you think but it is very noticeable.

Enjoy the car! I've had mine 3 months and I still love getting into it and driving it each day.

Ohhh what is this? Having I missed something or have they lied to me?

They told me it has been owned since new and wasn't a demo car

If the plate says Mercedes Benz without a dealer on it then its likely to be an ex-Mercedes employee car.

Great to hear @batfink :D looks lovely in white!

And I will check tomorrow @J1nxy

Question, they have reassured me over the phone but lets say worst case I find out it was a demo/press car, am I able to pull out the deal even if I've paid a deposit?

I would in all likeliness not walk from the deal anyway, but I would certainly be looking for some money off or something thrown in to compensate. A press/demo car is one thing, but a C43 press/demo car would just have been ragged to within an inch of its life by many people and I'd not want to end up with a car that potentially has issues. Or am I worrying about nothing?

If you google 'C43 estate review' there's a 16 plate in the same colour, so yours may not be a press car per se. It could be an employee car (likely to be someone high-ranking given the spec).

I think if you're looking for a nearly new C43 the majority of the cars out there will have come from either a Mercedes HQ source or a dealer demo. The chances of a private punter trading in in less than a year are unlikely, even at this level imo. Therefore you're probably worrying about nothing, especially as there's two years warranty left.

If the plate says Mercedes Benz without a dealer on it then its likely to be an ex-Mercedes employee car.

The dealer will almost certainly have put their own plate on the car.

I wouldn't worry about it. As said above, any car this age is either going to be ex-HQ or ex-press/demo so in both instances will more than likely have been ragged.

I always buy my cars at 12-18 months old and they've always been ex-HQ cars. It's never bothered me and I've never had any major issues.

My C43 was supposedly an Area Manager's car so I can't imagine it was treated with great care but it's a great car and seems in good condition to me.
