RIP Stan Lee

Weren't there also allegations of financial abuse in relation to his business manager. Link below:

I vaguelly remember something about family members taking the mick too?

Yeah, there was a lot of dodgy stuff going on in the last couple of years. He was getting on, but he was devoted to his wife, and I think that when she died a couple of years back, it really did knock him down. It takes away the thing you have to live for, and the shock takes a big toll on your health and can precipitate a quick decline in the elderly. He was 95 so he had a good innings, but it's a shame he had to deal with dodgy people trying to get their hands on his money in the last couple of years.

Long term marriages can do that, you often hear how one partner quickly follows the other when they've been together a long time. I actually think the same thing will happen with the Queen when Phillip goes. Like you say it just tears away such a large part of the persons life when someone they've been with for decades and decades dies that it seems to suck the remaining life out of them too.

I guess he didn't own the intellectual property, Marvel Comics/Marvel Movies did. I did read somewhere that he was paid a million dollars a year by Marvel "for being Stan Lee".

When you worked for someone, the standard practice is everything you make, design, belongs to your employer i.e. Marvel. Especially in his early career.

Crazy that he's had a hand in creating a whole universe of super heroes that the average man or woman on the street would recognise :(

Fact: the films that he's appeared in (cameos) have made $26,089,560,405 ($26B) worldwide. That's some legacy.

Nuff said!
