mATX gaming build suggestions?

, don't want to skimp in this area either
Indeed. I'm not saying that one should skimp on the psu. I'm saying that one should spend sensibly - a £80/90 PSU on a total budget of £600 - doesn't sound quite that sensible to me, when a £50/60 psu would do the job nearly just as well

I'm all for blowing the budget, but at least, do it sensibly :p

Agreed, if I spend £50/60 on a PSU needs to be the best at that price point.

The only problem here at OcUK I could actually buy the EVGA G+ 650 for £69 elsewhere by the time you add shipping.

I don't mind going a little over budget if it means getting the best as I know she will want to go that step further later on with streaming etc.

looks good, able to push 580 for £209 , seems Gigabyte for £200 tomorrow

ah, saw the 2 free games and not 3 for the 570/80 AMD Cards

The prices on both memory and CPU's will determine the outcome on either RX570/580.

Would prefer to get her a 1600 with 16GB for less than £200... I think this is now looking possible and then pairing it with either of the above.

@orbitalwalsh - 1500X worth considering especially with the bump in L3 cache should a 1600 be out of reach?

Following the advice from you guys, we are planning on getting the 1600 as it's obvious this will be on sale very soon.

Currently awaiting further deals now on the CPU, PSU and case and all is complete and should be well under budget!

Ryzen 5 1400 worth the tag of £110.14? Will it suit the RX 570 8G?
ignore my previous comment. 1500x actually comes with a cooler.
and if you shop around, is the same price as a 1400.
1500x is then the better choice.
(1500x is a better clocked version of the 1400)

I've just bought the Ryzen 5 1500X with what looks like the Wraith Spire cooler for £115.39, a few quid more and with higher L3 cache.

it's all coming together now! :)

Overall this came under budget thanks to the recent sales, so just a mATX case and power supply left which I will look at this coming black Friday.

Thanks for all the help chaps, she'll be well chuffed next weekend. Looks like a solid build for 1080p @ 50/60 fps.

Build is now complete, grabbed an EVGA 650W G3 for £69.98 and a Phanteks Evolv mATX Glass case for £94.99.

Total system cost was around £648 with all games maxed out at 1080p, glad I prepared for the future as she's talking about RGB!

get a snap up :)

glad shes liking it

I'll get a pic up before the weekend... I was a little hesitant to spend a great deal on this build just in case it went unused but glad to report a great combo of hardware at a smashing price, so thanks for the advice chaps!

Now there's talks of RGB, streaming and my wallet screaming!!! :D
