No good in compression. Resin is the primary material property for that in which case Fisher Price will do you nice plastic parts...

Only just realised that caymens (plural lol) don't have the black strip like my old 911 did under the front bumper, if i'd have done that it would have scraped :eek:

The only bike part which isn't available in Carbon is the chain. Carbon wheels typically manage heat and stress okay

Wheel mounts? Axles? Hubs? Bottom bracket mount? Head?

Yep all of those are standard carbon parts - as I said , everything except the chain

I'd genuinely love to see this! Every carbon frame I've ever seen has those items made from Al or Ti. In some cases even steel.

I had some MTB wheels 8 years ago with Carbon rims, hubs and spokes. The BB mounts on my 3 bikes are all carbon. If you have the money you easily buy carbon chain rings, brake calipers, crank arms, pedals, seat posts, all carbon saddles etc..

I just googled and can't find any. What wheels i have found are metal bearings. I thought CF was rubbish for wear in a particular way? When i used to work on aircraft there has to be bushes fitted due to CF not working with compression for example.

I've dropped a thread over in cycling about it. I have the exact same understanding as you however. I did some research on cf application for subsea use a few years back and one of the major issues was termination - the fact that we had to bond it with metals for bearings and the glues typically used had issues in salt-water. You're probably familiar with them from aircraft use as that's where they originated.
