the FD8 is a newer version of the monitor
the old version uses a VA panel which suffered somewhat with ghosting.
the FD8 uses an IPS panel, so should be less ghosting, but traded off with brighter blacks and IPS glow.
the newer FD8 hasn't been reviewed professionally as far as I'm aware...

I've got this (the IPS panel). I'm no expert, but I like it. Can't say I've noticed any glow, and it doesn't seem to be effected to much by ghosting, but again, I'm not going to be the best judge of these things.

Ended up getting one. Its great

hello! how is the ghosting in this? also anyone with amd gpu (and freesync enabled) tried to UNDERclock the refresh rate?
if yes at what point did you make it before flickering appears?
if no please do >.<

Just bought one, for 200 notes it's a no brainer, using an 8 year old 24 inch 1080p TN at mo so will report back when I get it :D

£200 damn, I hope there's a 27" version. I want to another 27" 1440p monitor to go with my recently bought Asus PG27Q8R. Want it with IPS though but didn't find anything reasonable.

Interesting. I've been on the lookout for a decent 1440p 32" monitor this week but this one slipped under the radar.

I've been using a 1080p 27" AOC IPS monitor for the past 4 years so I'm happy with the brand.

Is the consensus so far that this is a decent monitor?

Hi mate no ghosting that I can tell. Ive got freesync enabled but not sure how to underclock the refresh rate

you underclock via this https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU
and you change this https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zizRDzX8Z5PuuXow-Cr5Y7yufP-C1JUl
(41 means its starting from 42 hz, thats my max underclock, try for lower but go 1 by 1).
then you use the restart64 (i guess you got x64 drivers and os), if you dont get image or something press f8 (i think that was the one.. or f11, you will see the first time you use the restart64 so start with a small underclock to learn how it works).

to test if its flickering you need this http://us.download.nvidia.com/downloads/cool_stuff/demos/Setup_G-SYNC_1.13.exe
you will get how it works... to see if it flickers you have to get the fps in the freesync range you have underclocked to (for example 41-76 for me), you gotta test all the range to be sure it works ok!

so i just side-graded from the VWF to the VWFD8
i made the purchase decision based on the review here: https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/aoc-q3279vwfd8/

i can honestly say it's a massive step up going from the VA panel of the original VWF to the IPS panel on the VWFD8. the difference is night and day IMO.
very pleased with my decision :)
also got it on the cheap with the ebay sale (<£175 inc delivery)

1440p, IPS, 32 inch, 75hz, freesync (albeit at limited range) - a steal for the price.

gYWZ3FF.jpg

here's my screen. looks worse than it actually is...
i've drawn in red where the backlight bleed is noticeable in a dark room with full black screen.
in normal usage in a reasonably lit room, it's not noticeable.

please please please try underclocking it!!!!
if it's just like the VWF, then there's no point under or overclocking it.
and besides, i don't have an amd graphics card to run freesync anyway (using a 1080ti)
