I dont understand why when they got the drivers car door open then backed off.

They could have pulled the keys out or even the driver.

Hopefully they will be caught, doesn't look like the most organised operation so they're bound to have slipped up elsewhere.

Unforgivable, it's nearly 2019 and people who do such things deserve to be locked up in jail until they file a written apology and understanding that videos should always be recorded horizontal.

Before. As far as I can gather they tried to steal booze and were confronted by security. I'm guessing they made a run for it and hit two people with their car upon trying to get away. Whether they hit they deliberately or just through reckless driving is unknown. That's when the crowd moved in to try and stop them and things turned into chaos.

Not just booze but yeah they had a load of booze mainly.
Pegged it after a run-in with security and ended up hitting a couple escaping. Only after seeing that a hit and run was in progress, did the mob gather.

The traditional method for a lynch mob is of course hanging, so why didn't you go with that? The most famous lynch mobs did the white robes and hoods thing, but that was a relatively brief local fashion amongst the millenia of lynch mobs worldwide.

It's a crime to carry a plank in many parts of London. Would you torture someone to death for that?

The issue is the law isn't strong enough, get caught doing something wrong and you always get a slap on the wrist, if sentencing was stronger and the policing was more consistent then you might not see this mentality quite so much.

A combination of CCTV and witness statements passed to the police would likely have avoided most of this. Least that was suffice was in the good old days

Wasn’t much of a mob and tbh... fair play to them. You could easily kill someone by running them over, people were right to attempt to stop these criminals including smashing windows on their car etc...
