Crazy Tesco Car Park Incident

Unforgivable, it's nearly 2019 and people who do such things deserve to be locked up in jail until they file a written apology and understanding that videos should always be recorded horizontal.

Absolutely!! It's a habit that I find most disturbing

The issue is the law isn't strong enough, get caught doing something wrong and you always get a slap on the wrist, if sentencing was stronger and the policing was more consistent then you might not see this mentality quite so much.
Social media, just put the video in it and name them, justice will be served. We are getting like bloody Pakistan or India, what ever happened to the British way of dealing with it?

Apparently one of the Tesco employees that they deliberately drove into is in hospital in quite a serious way with a broken back.

Well that's just silly.... all over a couple bottles of booze Tesco will just write off.....

I worked for Tesco long ago and even they say themselves don't directly confront shoplifters. Inform security and they will deal with it.

I presume to avoid situations like this........

A combination of CCTV and witness statements passed to the police would likely have avoided most of this. Least that was suffice was in the good old days

But now it’s good old mob mentality and have a go hereoes.

Idiots. All of them. The bloke ramming the car with a trolley no doubt escalated things and should have his ass hauled in too.

We need more of it.

The UK justice system is an absolute joke as is the sentencing rhey recieve.

It's like our system is designed around prison capacity rather than protecting the public.

The Rotherham shoe rapist:

...He was eventually convicted of four rapes and two attempted rapes and spent seven years behind bars, but police believe there may have been as many as 120 victims.

7 years for 4 rapes?

Give me the US justice system any day.

I agree, absolutely no need for the general public to get involved. Assuming the car was traceable the authorities will have enough information to pursue the offender.......however, if the car was also stolen etc., still not worth innocent people getting involved or injured for the sake of stolen goods from a bl**dy supermarket. Daft mob social media mentality, does my absolute fruit in.

Amen. In a similar manner that living of benefits has become a lifestyle choice becoming a criminal is the same. You barely get punished for more "modest" crime such as theft and robbery and as such there is no deterrent.

However Our ******* moronic politicians and the soft sods who won't blame or hold people accountable for their actions fail to realise that "lesser" crimes are a gateway to serious criminality and showing them there is no punishment for their actions just hastens their journey down the path. That and it's no shcok there's a general disregard for decency and societal norms when people could act as criminals or morons and there is zero accountability.

Too many apologists, like the good old days lock them up. Alternatively 20 years ago when I worked in retail you found a shoplifter you took them in the warehouse and gave ththem such a good kicking they would never do it again :p

To be fair I kind of agree, but the problem is that a mob never gets the full story and once things escalate -- well there's no saying what might happen. I'm not saying it's the case here (I haven't bothered watching the video) but for instance the first thing came to mind is that perhaps someone lost control of their car and hit someone. It could happen. A few people see this, assume the worst and end up lynching the driver. What's been achieved? As a civilisation we should be better than that, that's why we have CCTV, police, juries etc. Again, I'm not saying that's what happened here but you simply can't trust people to make a snap judgement on what's just happened, and then enforce their own punishment. It's just a dangerous road to go down and we shouldn't be applauding it. Sorry, but no.

Need to start removing serious criminals from this mortal coil.

3 strikes and you're out.

2 9mm bullets are far cheaper than keeping em locked up for even a year...

The crowd backed off once they had the door open and assumed he would stop at that point, it was nowhere near a 'lynching'. The driver then decided to smash through everything.

I can't believe people are defending the driver, in an apparently stolen hire car, who is likely going to use it on a crime spree.

Not cheaper for society though, which will see the escalation as a threat and act accordingly. These frivolous comments on christmas day aswell, shame.

And stealing three times when you're literally starving (which happens probably every day) deserves 2 9mm bullets aswell i'd seriously question what the end game would be.

Should be fairly easy to find out who they are right? The passenger looked partially visible. I know we all have moments of madness but the driver took it to another level - they could have just been done for theft and are no doubt facing much more serious charges.

And how can you be absolutely sure you’re killing the right person with your 9mm bullets? There have been and will always be miscarriages of justice.
