It's the dog eats dog world is what's happening. Women want to partake in the evolution world where you can earn a lot, be 'successful' be graded on appearance and how you, 'play the game' so to speak, survival of the fittest.
Some are reveling in it some are not, depends on your strengths and weaknesses as determined by the rules of that world.
It's pure power lust but it's being sold as equal opportunities, fairness, progression and what ever other word you want to use.

Except it's something that everyone is concerned about and doesn't need to call themselves a feminist to do so. Meanwhile self-described feminists in the USA - organizers of the Women's March and prominent feminists like Linda Sarsour, no less - are working with the Nation of Islam, an organization that publicly says the same sorts of things as Skorpian above but unlike Skorpian (hopefully), they do so without a sense of humour. A Tunisian and Algerian woman protested an Islamic conference near Paris a couple of years ago where people were discussing how to "subjugate your wives". I.e. what level of beating was appropriate. The women were then dragged out and kicked by the men assembled. Where was mainstream feminism in criticising that? Nowhere.
Again, this thread span off because someone thought I was joking when I said the Conservative Right supported equal opportunity. I'll add that the Right are more critical of things like the above than modern Western Feminism which has become (with the exception of some RadFems), an entirely Progressive, Left-Wing ideology.

Yes. It was one specific Women's March in California and they couldn't get enough non-White people to agree to come so they cancelled it. If there were some element of that being motivated by actual solidarity with non-White women in the world who are suffering (India, Pakistan, the ME, Africa) then I'd see some merit in it at least (though it would still be counter-productive). But really it's just another head of the Identity Politics hydra that wants to present itself as representing people it's not.
Because mainstream feminists are aligned with Communism and Islam, two fairly controlling systems. They want to be controlled mindfully and are not satisfied with anything in the so-called democratic western world we live in.
It's all messed up. Total spoilt brats in some ways and in other ways just lost sheep looking for leadership and comfort.

Why would feminists align themselves with Islam, which (generally) is one of the most patriarchal religions.

The repeated promotion, by mainstream contemporary feminism, of the supposed 'issue' of wage gap certainly has communist undertones to it....
. .. What otherwise is a call (even if only implicitly) for a system of resource allocation for payment for work that has to necessarily be divorced from individuals abilities (and work ethics) and instead be based providing either an equal or a 'needs' based share to all regardless of their 'input' ?
Like most current group advocacy movements there is a heavy strain of Marxist theory running through feminism with a belief that different, averaged outcomes are the result of societally constructed systems of oppression rather then being more down to differences in the inherent averaged attributes of different groups.
But demonstrably some feminists (western non Muslim ones) do align themselves with Islam . ..
Again an explanation may be a misplaced sense of solidarity based on their Marxist world view were by Muslims are also perceived to be low down in the progressive stack of intersectional oppression. With white, male, cis, able bodied, heterosexual, nominally Christian, heterosexual, Upper class males being at the top of the stack.

You're failing to distinguish between feminism as the notion of equal opportunity and rights, and Feminism as in the modern movement in the West. The latter very much aligns itself with Islam because it has become a Progressive (capital P), Left-Wing ideology and is part of that general movement now. Look at how the Progressive Left co-opts all sorts of movements into an unwieldy alliance. As an illustration, look at it's brief and disastrous flirtation with militant atheism - Richard Dawkins, et al. There was a short period where the Atheists were courted and praised because they were seen as potentially useful against the predominantly Christian Right Wing in the USA. Then they were rapidly dropped like a hot rock when it was realised that whilst they were heavily critical of Christianity, they were equally vocal in condemning Islam. In short, they couldn't be co-opted and their value as an ally was far less than that of Islam.
I mean you can type in capitals all you want, but the list of examples of the modern Feminist movement aligning itself with Islam is long whether the reality matches your internal head-theorising or not.

Yep it's a bit like the old "won't someone think of the children" line whenever they want to force something through, which sensible people don't want or agree with. How dare someone argue against the children!
It's there but it's rare, mostly exists in an echochamber online and in American college campuses. All of the bonkers crap they come up with generates a bit of traction online in said echochamber and then flops when actual people see it in reality. Mostly thanks to the #MeToo and #GamerGate 'movements' being exposed as false accusations and misrepresentation. Don't know how old you are but I don't think it will go far until I'm too old to care, and hopefully by the time the current 16-22 age bracket have been in power long enough to effect the kind of change they want, I'll be long dead.
It will be a shame for my kids, but hey sucks to suck.
Anything other than complete and total praise for Islam is considered hate speech or politically incorrect, no? Islam is the SJW's wet dream, it's more a question of why wouldn't they? Most feminists are very young and angry, and have no clue about anything other than what bitter old feminist professors poison them with in college. Truth is most of these feminists will likely grow out of it in their 30s anyway.
