I get - assuming this is what you're after:-

My modem is currently connected at:
Connection Speed (Kbps) Down:24998 Up:4962
Huh? I'm currently on Sky Fibre Unlimited which gives you upto 36Mbps...?there's something wrong with your connection imo. maybe a filter is bad or modem cable bad or line fault e.t.c (you should get 50+mbit really)
Huh? I'm currently on Sky Fibre Unlimited which gives you upto 36Mbps...?
The question as per this thread, is can sky give me the free upgrade to the higher speed upgrade they are offering now upto Sky Fibre Max. ie: Thus then ideally getting me to the 50Mbps you mention!?
Ultimately, does this imply I could be upgraded? Sky said the cabinet needs some work first...
Yeh, I've been down that route a couple of times after a previous router was damaged in a lighting hit nearby. I got about the same speed with that one too...There’s something wrong with your line. The speed of 24998 suggests that it has been banded/capped by the hardware in the cabinet to stabilise the connection. Your speed should be 36Mbps now and is likely to hit 80Mbps if upgraded.
The first thing to do before calling Sky is to rule out internal wiring issues.
Is your router plugged into the master socket?
Does the master socket have two ports (phone and data) or just one?
If it has one port, could you remove the faceplate (it pops off on modern versions) and plug the DSL filter and router into the internal test socket?
This will disable any telephone extensions in your house until the faceplate is put back on but provides the cleanest connection that your router can get. I’d then let it sit for hours/days and see if the connection speed improves.
Ok I'll post over there...In that case, there could be a few causes - an external line fault (there is no way that a property capable of receiving G.Fast should be syncing at 25Mbps), the checker results are a database error or the DLM banding is stuck. Openreach would need to get involved via Sky. It will be a hassle but worth it for 25Mbps->80Mbps.
You should post over at Think Broadband. They have regulars who know more and in a position to make a few checks.
Well, from a discussion on ThinkBroadband, I'm getting about 25Mbps, and I won't be able to get anymore. ie: The fact I'm not getting 36Mbps (the Sky cap) shows I can't get anymore.I had a letter back in October........
Im still only getting 30mb tops, I presume from this I can get 80mb?
Either Sky have the wrong info or Openreach do as your speed and the figures from the checker are very different.I had a letter back in October........

Sky out of contract pricing for new customers increases announced
As of 1st April 2019 Sky is increasing a number of its out of contract product prices including broadband packages, call bundles and satellite TV packages.

Our understanding is that at this time the changes only affect new customers signing up, so people should enjoy a 12 or 18 month introductory offer before seeing these prices usually, though in the past the changes have eventually filtered through to existing customers who are out of contract. For those with broadband and phone services the requirement to notify people of price rises should mean once this does affect existing customers they will get 30 days notice and therefore have the option to migrate with no penalty to another provider.
The communication from Sky did not include the basic line rental charge, but given the rules around broadband package listings we are showing the broadband packages with the £18.99/m line rental included.
As of 1st April the monthly out of contract standard prices will change as follows (list is not exhaustive)
- Sky Broadband Unlimited standard price £30 rising to £31
- Sky Fibre Unlimited standard price £38.99 rising to £40.99
- Sky Fibre Max standard price £43.99 rising to £45.99
- Sky Talk Evenings and Weekends Extra calls bundle £4 rising to £5
- Sky Talk Anytime Extra Extra bundle £8 rising to £10
- Sky Entertainment satellite TV bundle £25 to £27
- Sky Q Multiscreen Pack £12 to 13
- Sky Cinema without Sports £18 to £19
Once a year isn't 'regularly' and is in line with most other companies? And who wants to pay £12.23p?Why does it seem Sky regularly increase their prices, and far more than inflation.
