Estate or SUV?

Estate would be my preference, but mainly on a value for money basis as there a fair bit cheaper than the comparable SUV.

Skoda Superb has a vast boot. I have an E Class and whilst not as big as the Superb, it is very big and very practical.

Seriously? You think that's acceptable to say?
He never said it was a bad thing! :D

I have a Volvo XC60, and my boss has the Volvo V60. The V60 has the slightly bigger boot, but the XC60 is a little wider across the back which allows me to get 3 child seats fitted. Doing the miles that i do, the SUV has been nicer to be in. But I do prefer the estate.

I would rather call people out who make racist/homophobic/sexist/xenophobic comments.
it was also ageist ;)
although of all the racist/homophobic/sexist/xenophobic comments that get made on here it's a bit odd to single out one that was clearly a joke and barely even offensive. but i fully agree with challenging those with such views rather than simply removing posts. we (as a society) should be challenging such toxic opinions rather than just ignoring them or brushing them under the carpet. so i applaud you for your efforts, though i imagine there are bigger battles ahead.
SUVs are for gays and womenfolk and old people. :p
how do you know the op isn't an old, gay woman?

Personally I prefer a higher seating position for driving so would lean interest wise towards SUVs - I had a look at a few estate, SUV and pickup options as I wanted something additional for moving house (amongst other uses) without going full van.

TBH the bigger estates seemed to have it over SUVs for loading up the boot though some like the BMW X3 have excellent luggage capabilities. In terms of as a place to be for the drivers and passengers some of the smaller SUVs I didn't like the approach at all but some of the bigger ones IMO are considerably better than an estate car but then as above I prefer being higher up.

I actually ended up buying a double cab pickup though.

I’m not banning you for it, I’m letting you know it’s not acceptable and hope that you (and others) will refrain from posting such comments in future :)

I find the load carrying from SUV perspective is a little awkward at times. Its for want of a better word more square. So its good for larger squarer items, say a dishwasher, but certainly worse for things like a fridge freezer, as they can be surprisingly short even with the seats down.
The other thing I find is that with the seats down you seem to end up with more space thats too high up, so if you want to really load it up for say a tip run it feels wrong.

Yeah I think you need to look at a bunch of different vehicles estate and SUV and find one that works for you load carrying wise.
