I’d much rather have a sporty SUV (I.e. GLC63 / Macan) than an ugly stretched saloon that is driven by grey haired blokes in cardigans on their way to the retirement home.Seriously? You think that's acceptable to say?
Estate.
Loving the practicality of my lowly Focus, I’m replacing all the carpets in my house this coming weekend, last weekend I removed all the old ones, cut them up and took the lot to the tip in one trip (I’d assumed it would take at least two)
Unless you live up a mountain an SUV / 4x4 seems pointless to me.
brick like air resistance of the suv versus the estate too ... so you're maybe 40 vs 50 at the pumps for >=A roads.
Strange that given I know a rather rich person with an e61 M5 estate along with his Ferrari GTC4 Lusso (as close as you’ll get to a Ferrari estate) he uses his M5 as his garden rubbish transport...What’s funny here is that rich people don’t bother with estates as they would just drive to the shop in their 2 seater and get the carpet delivered.
That is a fair consideration and I admit that the ride/comfort of the XC60 is better than the 5 Series, but I could definitely carry more stuff in the 5 Series. Our Q5 is much more useful than our A6 estate, particularly given the state of roads where we live.
Andi.
I had a baby and so bought a Cayenne. Found it was too big for central london and just over kill so bought a Mini Countryman which works well but I’m probably going to try a focus instead.
Is this a serious post? Or am I missing an inside joke?![]()
What about a sporty estate? RS6 Avant?I’d much rather have a sporty SUV (I.e. GLC63 / Macan) than an ugly stretched saloon that is driven by grey haired blokes in cardigans on their way to the retirement home.
