WEAPON ADJUSTMENTS LIVE ON ALL PLATFORMS

  • Wingman
    • Rate of fire reduced from 3.1 -> 2.6 shots per second.

    • Skullpiercer Headshot damage multiplier reduced from 2.5 -> 2.25

    • Increased base hip fire spread and decreased the rate at which hip fire spread decays (shrinks back down).
  • Peacekeeper
    • Shotgun Bolt rechamber rate has been reduced for the Peacekeeper only.
      • Level 1 mitigation 10% -> 7.5%

      • Level 2 mitigation 20% -> 13%

      • Level 3 mitigation 25% -> 16%
  • Wingman and Peacekeeper availability has been reduced in all zone tiers.

  • Increased availability of energy weapons & ammo in all zone tiers.

They've kept most of the skill but stopping people spamming it
 
Actually had some great games with randoms last night, 3 wins and couple of 2nd places. :D

Fully tricked out R-301 and Hemlok in single shot mode are now my favourite load out.
 
Is that a nerf to Peacekeeper RoF too ?

I'm assuming they haven't addressed the exploit though where if you press reload, switch weapon and switch back to Peacekeeper it actually increases the RoF over what it normally is
 
That's not too bad. I like the way they are nerfing it.
It'll need 1 more shot to kill someone, if your at full health with level 1 armour:

- Skullpiercer Headshot damage multiplier reduced from 2.5 -> 2.25

45/90 weapon damage at standard:
With skullpiercer attached:
Was: 1 headshot: 45*2.5=112.5 + 1 bodyshot 45 = 157.5 damage. (dead with level 1 armour)
Now: 1 headshot: 45*2.25= 101.25 + 1 bodyshot 45 = 146.25 damage (not dead with level 1 armour)

Major balance changes

    Hit box size reductions and optimizations for Caustic, Pathfinder and Gibraltar
    We’re better sizing hitboxes to character gear & model
    Since these adjustments have a MAJOR impact on the game, we want to make sure there aren't any major bugs, so we didn’t want to rush them out
    If these adjustments prove to be insufficient, we’ll consider additional adjustments during Season 1

Minor balance changes

Caustic

    Traps - Reduced cooldown to 25 seconds from 30 seconds
    Traps - Increased radius and proximity radius by about 10%
    Traps - Removed a 1 second delay on the smoke dealing damage to players

Pathfinder

    Insider Knowledge - Increased the number of beacons in the world to 12 from 10

Lifeline

    Care Package - Removed slight chance that level 4 armor and helmets will drop

Wraith

    Into The Void - Cooldown increased from 20 -> 25 seconds

Bangalore

    Double Time - Reduced move speed bonus to 30% from 40%
 
So no more level 4 helmets and armour from Lifeline ultimate? Interesting. I assume it's random care package drops only from now then. It'll make top armoured characters rarer mid game at least, which may reduce the bullet sponge feel of the game slightly.

:edit: I dun goofed, I was thinking this was purple level 3 items. Disregard :p

I'm assuming they've done it because they'd underestimated people feeding a lifeline any and all accelerants they find and no one else using them
 
Thats annoying, lifeline is my favourite, though it was pretty rare to get level 4 stuff anyway.

Just re-read it, can confirm I was forgetting level 4 is gold! I was mistaking it for purple :o

Not really any difference then, it must have been be around 5% or less chance anyway and level 4 is only marginally beneficial over level 3, no armour increase.
 
Actually seem like pretty decent balance changes...

If this was Overwatch Blizzard's patch notes would be more like:

* Modified Peacekeeper to 20% of it's current damage
We felt that the peacekeeper was too strong because of all the crybabies on reddit, so we're tweaking it slightly so that it hopefully is less effective
* Modified Havoc to do +200% damage
Nobody said anything about this gun at all but for no reason we figured why not give it a huge buff

And then they'd come back in perhaps 3 months to consider addressing the completely broken state of the game (or maybe not, maybe they'd just add a new shiny hero)
 
Wingman changes too drastic for me. Sure it needed adjusting, but that's heavy handed when most people aren't that great with it.
 
I feel the changes are perfect,
It's a gun that's meant to be a skilled weapon which pays off if you're good with it. They've taken away someone standing in your face hammering the fire button

Had no idea you could get Gold armor in Lifeline packages. I almost only play lifeline so have called in a fair few of them and have *never* got a gold armor! So those changes don't make me sad haha.

That's pretty ridiculous!!! I paid good money for this game so I expect t--- Oh yeah, it was free - as far as I'm concerned it'd be acceptable if they didn't give out any free Apex packs. It's neat getting the items and stuff but I don't feel like I'm owed anything, and if the game continues to provide as much fun as it has so far I can see myself paying for either a few packs or more likely some coins to unlock skins for whoever my favourite legends turn out to be. More than happy to support a business model that is being done right for once

Well that's the idea... but honestly a lot of us have going on 100+ hours in this already... that's a lot more time than people are likely to get out of any big £50+ game. You can't be crying and complaining over them wanting to make some money back

Not complaining, loving the game just annoyed at RNG not giving me itamz. :p
 
Not a fan of the exp system when looking at it properly

16minutes time survived = 2970exp which is rather easy to do
1300 damage, only 329exp which requires way more skill than simply hiding all ******* round
