Labour frontbencher Diane Abbott "coloured".

Most people just don't give a ****, they aren't interested. They don't act racist and don't care to keep up with the latest politically correct term.

I personally know to use the word Black and not Coloured, but I don't even know where I found that out, and I wouldn't bat an eye lid at someone for using the word Coloured as I've never seen it used in a derogatory fashion.

Well its a 30 years since the term was acceptable in the context you are suggesting.
If people really know that little about the development of their own nation in an entire generation then I think that's beyond not giving a ****.
A cabinet minster, 'should' know.
As stated by someone else in the thread, both these women are thick as *****. That's what's running the nation.
maybe we deserve what we get, for not giving a ****.

I mean, I would expect Amber Rudd to know, but there's large parts of society that don't even interact with Black people because they live in predominantly White communities. Black people are only 3.3% of the population, I'd expect most of those were in the South East as well. I work in Leeds city centre and I've seen hundreds of different people come and go where I work, only a hand full have been Black, most are White and Asian.

Didn't you grow up with it in SA? It seems to have gone the other way over there now...

Very much so, it’s a very sensitive subject for obvious reasons. I’m just glad I got out all those years ago, I wish I could say the same for those I left behind however.

The whole argument is stupid. 'Black' people aren't black and 'white' people aren't white. This has bothered me since i was a child and I was old enough to know what colours were. :o

Hmm, what can I say....? ;) Political incorrectness is indeed alive and well in Whitchurch. Old farmers are old farmers, and don't usually adjust their terminology with the times, just their bills.
