Apex Legends BR

I know it's Forbes and not wholly scientific but

https://www.forbes.com/sites/nelson...-a-big-problem-in-online-gaming/#58052b797663

A total of 37% of gamers confessed to cheating (3% "always", 9% "often", 13% "sometimes", and 12% "rarely"). And given there was no incentive compatible mechanism in the survey to ellicit full honesty (other than the option "prefer not to say" which is like pleading the 5th), I am going to bet it's higher than 40%.

That's pretty damning

Even the pro's cheat

I actually think it's a bigger problem than a lot of people realise

It's not a game for players who like to take their time and stay at range from the enemy. Getting in close and shooting them in the face with a shotgun seems to be the clear winning strategy.

Tried about 20 different things to try to fix the crashes. I am not sure whether it is the recent amd driver or apex updates but I am crashing a lot less lately and this line seem to have helped.

+fps_max 100 -novid -freq 144

Where 144 should be your monitor's refresh rate.

Got this tip from this reddit post https://old.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/avzjov/i_fully_fixed_my_crash_more_info/

(the other suggestion did not make a difference for me)

Best change it to +fps_max 144 surely otherwise you'll be stuck at 100, unless the -freq 144 overrides it, in which case what's the point in the first bit :p?

Yeah definitely get that - I think the whole BR meta, in general, is a struggle for me; I'm not quick enough at looting and always forgetting to use my characters abilities/ manage health properly! Really enjoying the game though, going to grind it out...

Having come from a place where I’d never played a BR game in my life it took a few hours to click but I haven’t played anything else other than a couple of hours in D2 beta since it launched.

Unfortunately the way exp is rewarded you get 3x more exp for staying alive based on time than killing people or doing damage

You'll get way more exp overall if you hide every game until only you and another squad are left alive vs trying to kill people at the start/mid game where you risk dying for little reward

This game and the just one more round mentality..
I have been going to bed at the time I normally wake up, thanks Apex :p

Really gelling with the R99 SMG.

It's a real beast at mid to close range encounters when you start getting add ons. Extended mag essential!
I never refuse an R-99, but you need to know your squad has your back when you go play Rambo with it. Specially if you play a legend with no escape tricks.

My cherry pick is the Spitfire, love that gun.
I guess I would go Spitfire > R301 > R99.

Will not touch the Alternator anymore, or the Prowler, or the Flatline, The Hemlok on single fire is O.K.
Devotion if it falls in my lap at drop, I can live with it. Now ammo is plentiful.
G7 scout, ye saved me a few times but nope.
Not a sniper person, so never really used the longbow/triple take except on drop.

Peacekeeper is what it is, can save you, can get you killed if you miss that bunny hopping foe. It's my go to 2nd like most people, you just gotta stay calm and pick your shot, always easier when you don't have dead squad mates spectating you :D RE-45 not a bad 2nd also. Not a terrible main weapon either /controversial

Ah the Wingman, I tried so much to get on with it, but I swear 5/6 rounds are blanks, not for me, will lose every 1v1 with it.

Was running into a lot of cheaters yesterday. They always seem to have a random set of numbers as the name. Clunking constant wingman head shots, sad really. Enjoyment zero?
If enough people start spectating them, they switch the cheat off and can't hit nothing.
Move like it's there first day in the game and loot like it's a lazy Sunday in Sainsburys.

Oh right? I thought the higher, the better for polling? What's the logic in dropping that down?
You know I have no idea, but it 100% helped. I was watching a streamer and they said to do it, and it 100% helped my game, maybe /placebo but if it works it works.
250hz was too low, could feel the judder? but 500 is like a sweet spot to help not overshoot when tracking targets.
You would think that was more in the realm of dpi settings but I feel 1000hz is too reactive?
What works for one might not work for another, fiddle on the fly in the shooting range and see what you think.

Thats what I use (800 in game 2000 on the desktop)
In game settings 4.5 and 0.5
