Apex Legends BR

I'm not fussed about playing better, the occasional win (I average 1 in 4 or 1 in 5 wins at the moment, which is enough for me) and having fun playing generally is whats important to me, not the winning :). Lets face it anyway, skills and ability to play drop off when you don't play, my 1 hour of play a week is never going to stack up very well against people who can play 10 hours or 30 hours a week, practice makes perfect and all that :D

If you're winning 1 in 4 games I'm considering turning my sensitivity up :p

Do you have mouse acceleration in windows turned off?

Its turned off in windows.

Lol, I would never recommend that. I only ever play with randoms, I never use the wingman and I never use a sniper rifle (I just don't like either), so I am pretty sure that I am carried quite often. I would only ever recommend that people try different settings and find the one which works best for them and then play with that, rather than automatically believe that 400dpi, or 800dpi, or 1800dpi or 3000dpi will improve them, if its improvement they are seeking. As with everything in life, try, experiment and then go with what you like.

I can understand that, known a lot of min/maxers. I'm far from a min/maxer, never have been in any of my games. I usually play in games with specs or loadouts that people tell me are Wrong. As an example, I played in world of Warcraft as a defence warrior and carried a shield the whole time I levelled up, people used to scream like mad at me that a 2-hander or dual wielding was quicker and better to level, nobody ever seemed willing to accept that I actually liked playing with the shield and defence spec :D

Oh sure, I'm not against playing what you like thats a bit different! I bet you still min/maxed your prot war though! Or were you running around in leather just to be different!

Reminds me of that hunter who leveled up with melee only just for fun, ha.

Nope, still didn't min max, I didn't wear leather though , I wore plate. But not because of its stats, but because a warrior should wear plate :D

In the past, I've played MMOs and refused to use anything magical (no magic armour, no magic weapons, no potions and no teleports or portals, or using anyone elses portals/teleports) purely because my character didn't trust magic. Yes...I was one of those players :D

Haha well said... my comment was fairly tongue-in-cheek though as I'm sure you got...

I also don't really use single/slow shot accurate weapons or snipers, preferring to get close with shotguns and SMGs. I don't actually know what my settings are, don't think I changed them and they feel about right to me... I've won a fair few games but am a lot more inconsistent - sometimes a session of 3-4 games will be all losses, sometimes the 3rd or 4th game will be a win... I've been "kill leader" twice on about 5 kills and then promptly died (too much pressure!!). Like you I mostly just play for a laugh, don't have the time to really practice or anything but I think that's what I like about this game - even the absolute best champion squad in the world can still have a bad drop and get rekt right away, and a lowly squad of unlikely noobs can play well and win

Lol, too right. Got to say Apex is a superb game for just having fun in. I feel a lot less pressure in Apex than in Battlegrounds for example. Apex is just ...fun :)

I wish I could get this into games :D

369 hours into the game @ 56 years of age and still the muscle memory isn't there. Well, most of it isn't. I'm fat-fingering the Nostromo less and less and just starting to manage the 4 thumb buttons on the G700s better. Aim is still poor most of the time. Bullet travel time in this is so slow.
Now I'm starting to think slide here and climb there and heal now without the additional step of which button is it I need to press. Slowly making time for the where should I go next and how do I get out of trouble here thinking.

Winning more and more 1v1 fights but not too many 1v3's, especially when the rest of my squad is down.

I played 5 matches last weekend. 3 of those matches ended with squad wipe within 60 seconds lol, I finished 3rd in one match and won the other match. I was happy with that as a session of Apex. :)

Oh, that makes more sense then. When you say a few times you're average, but have probably the best win rate on the forum, I was a little confused. If it's actually you played 4 or 5 games and won one, that's a little different.

As has been said, to expect to be able to just switch to 800dpi and do well/enjoy it is a little silly tbh. I certainly couldn't switch to 1,800 and kill anything at all... You perhaps don't have the time to transition, but I wouldn't move more than 200dpi per session perhaps.

It might seem odd that people are badgering you about it, but I honestly think it's because we all think you would actually be better if you could get used to it, that's all :)

Oh god, I hope it didnt come across as having the best win rate on the forum. I try to always say that I have only a 20-25% win rate (1 in 4/5).

I may be able to be better, in my younger days I was very good at shooters but back then I had loads of time to play and keep practicing and putting in the hours to remain sharp. I'm not fussed about being better, in time I wont have the freetime to keep Apex on the go in any competitive way so I'm happy to just have fun with it and pick up the odd win here and there until I move on (Division 2, Imperator Rome, Civ 6 Expansion, Metro Exodus, Pantheon)

Finally broke 2000 damage. In the worst game ever.

Yes, 20-25% is probably the best win rate on the forum... I know I'm only average, but I think my 'Top 3' percentage is probably around 20%. Win rate is probably around 5-7%.

As others have said, would love to see some footage of you playing that well, with that DPI :)

Wow, I'm surprised, I didnt think that playing and winning 1 game out of 5 games on average was a particularly high win rate. I usually play 5 games in a session and win one of those simply by my teammates doing the killing. Last weekend for example I got paired with a level 86 and level 79 guy and got a win where they killed about 12 guys between them and I killed one :)

Is there a way to see my stats, so I can check my games played vs wins? I do have my Top 3 stat showing on my banner (38 top 3 places)

Well, as I say, I'll record some footage when I play next but may be a while as its Division 2 for the foreseeable future :D

Played a few more games last night, feel like I'm getting there slowly with the mechanics etc. but need to tweak my sensitivity some more - struggling to track targets, especially in the frantic close CQ engagements.
