I especially like the guy who ignored the jump master, me, to go where he wanted, subsequently died and then proceeded to throw abuse. :p:rolleyes:

I had EXACTLY that happen, guy straight away broke off, he didn't suggest a location or anything, just immediately went in a different direction. He landed, got killed and started yelling about us not helping him even though it was his decision to go to a different place. If he had at least suggested where he wanted to go then our jumpmaster might have gone there.

Oh yes. And the guy who rages 'Why didn't you revive me lifeline?' When you kill all but the last player in a 3 team CQ battle that raged around his downed body. And you have no armour and a p2020 whilst he had level 3 and a peacekeeper.
.

Yes, 20-25% is probably the best win rate on the forum... I know I'm only average, but I think my 'Top 3' percentage is probably around 20%. Win rate is probably around 5-7%.

As others have said, would love to see some footage of you playing that well, with that DPI :)

I played 5 games saturday night, won 4.

Then i didn't win a single game on Sunday or Monday, hahaha.

Sometimes... and I really mean sometimes I've had success by quickly identifying that we've got a selfish "Rambo" player and doing my best to stay as close as possible to them, so that at least when a fight eventually happens we aren't so outnumbered (especially if the 3rd squadmate follows us as well)...

But that can backfire as well - had one game where the Rambo just did not stop running the whole match... the other guy and myself were trying to follow him but he was somehow managing to stay just ahead of us and grab all of the loot along the way (and kept closing doors in our faces too)... so 5 minutes into the match when he eventually ran into an enemy squad we were there but had no armour or weapons!!!

Wow, I'm surprised, I didnt think that playing and winning 1 game out of 5 games on average was a particularly high win rate.

I guess maths isn't your strong point then ;) There are 20 squads that start, only 1 wins, that's 5%. Logically the average will be 5% (or very close, some times I think it can start with 19 squads?) so if you're winning 20-25%, that's very high.

To see stats (per Legend) go to Legends and Banners, then down to... whatever it's called where you select what data is shown. I think it gives you games played and wins there.

Slowly getting better at it, although very slowly. The people jumping away from the dfrop early is annoying. I *still* need to get better at collecting weapons at the start, although I am now loanding at doorways ... just that often behind the door is a armour, a scope, and no bleedin gun !

As I say, I play 5 matches each weekend, I usually always win 1 of those (often because of the other players in my squad rather than me) , so I estimated 1 in 5 equals 20%. I'll take a look when I fly home next and see what it says there for my stats, will take a screenshot if my estimate is right, just to show that I am not a liar ;)

Don't think stats tells you your total number of wins. The stats are one of the few week points of this game.

I would prefer global stats as as well or instead individual character stats.

I've not really looked into them in any depth, will be a turn up for the book though. I always assumed I was pretty average for 10 wins out of 50 matches for example, if that actually means that I'm the best on the forum then I need a winners certificate or something :D

Many many years ago I was very very good in stuff like Battlefield 1942/2/3, Unreal Tournament and Quake. Like VERY good (still with the high sensitivity settings of course), but I felt that over the last decade or so that my reaction times, coordination and general skill level had dropped significantly and assumed that I was just average (at best) now. An unexpected surprise to see that winning 1 in 5 on average is actually really good. Maybe I've been unduly over-critical of myself then :)

I don't think percentage wins are the be-all-end-all, i've had this conversation through the pubg thread a gazillion times :)

It all depends on the player style and those percentages only really come into real consideration after several seasons or a large amount of games played and has some supporting stats around them.

As a quick example:
An aggressive player who likes to go around running towards every fight will lose a much higher percentage of games, but their wins will have a larger amount of kills.
A passive player, who will hide and only get involved until he needs to, will have a higher win percentage - as they tend to always make the final few groups alive, but their final kills value is much lower.

Each player enjoys the game just as much as each other, since that's how they like to play, there's no wrong way of playing for enjoyment.

For me, what makes the best player(s) - just like watching dizzy/shroud/mendo - they get high % wins, but also have something like an 8-12K/D. For me, I always try and get my K/D up, more so than wins, because if I concentrate on getting better at killing - wins will naturally follow.

^This , is me. I'm passive, I land (or try to) as far away from everyone else as possible and creep in. I very rarely ever kill more than 3 people in a round. As you say, I do quite often make the final few groups. Funnily enough, twice in PUBG solo I won without firing a shot :D

If anyone fancies "squading up" for a few games, feel free to add me on Origin (swinbag) - I'm still very new to the game but can be a frustrating experience playing with randoms - the ping system is an absolute godsend!

@Swinbag - https://discord.gg/p8G8jE6

Connect to discord and drop into an Apex voice channel.
People on this forum constantly scan those channels for others interested in squading up.
Feel free to put a little message in the #Apex text channel saying your looking for a squad if no one joins. Once your in, one of you adds the other in Origin and your away. It's a good little place to make regular squaddies to play with.

Cheers - that's a great shout will do.

The ping system is an absolute revolution. I can see so many games copying it and it becoming the norm, imo its that much of a step up in terms of online interplayer tools.

I have no idea if it was the first game to do it, but the general idea has been there since at least Battlefield 1942... 16.5 years ago! 16.5 years before that, the original Legend of Zelda was released :o You can't stop progress eh?

The ping system was added to PUBG too, put on their test servers and there was uproar - this was about a year ago now.
I can see why, since pubg tries to steer on the side of realism (where it can) - using the ping system made it almost too easy at times and the TTK is pretty low in comparison to Apex, so was seen as being too OP (I still agree).

It works in Apex though, it works very well too, the games wouldn't be as action packed without it!

It works on Apex because it's a squad based game and helping your squad mates helps you. A whole load of Fortnite or PUBG players are on at Respawn to make a Solo mode. I really hope they don't.
