NVIDIA Could Tease Its Next-Gen Ampere GPU on 7nm at GTC 19

I'm really looking forward to having a full 7nm PC. They do make really good GPUs but I believe it will be bad for the future of the gaming community to increase Nvidia's 80% market dominance by buying one of their products. I dont want the prices to rise even more and I'm annoyed at the number of RMAs. But that's what market dominance leads to. Maybe if market share drops to 65% I might treat myself to an Nvidia card because I'd feel I've done my bit to help lol

Too early in my opinion, I wouldn't expect anything new to be talked about for a good few months yet.

I don't know why but I'm excited about Nvidia's 7nm. Think it's going to be a big jump of performance again, Pascal redux.

I don't think so.

NVidia GPUs are ridiculously overpriced on 12nm and if they have any common sense at all they will use 7nm to sell the same performance for half the price.

3080 should be faster than a 2080ti which is what, 30% faster than a 1080ti? I don't think 50% over a 1080ti is stretching it TBH.

It was more the "for £600" which is the unbeleivable bit. More like starting at £1600 with Asus card being £1999

Why would a x80 be priced 3 times as much as every other x80 that came before it? That would force the x80ti to be around £2500 which makes no sense.

Nvidia could be just moving pieces down once, as they did with Turing. So the 3080 would be a 2080ti equivalent, and for the 50% performance improvement over a 1080ti that would mean going for 3080ti, which I don't think anyone really thinks it's going to be £600.

Not talking about performance, but rather the unrealistic expectation of Nvidia willingly pricing a 3080 that would be faster than the 2080ti at £600.

Just think back about the launch price of 2080 vs the launch price of 1080ti...
