Yeah I wouldn't worry about Gökmen Tanis, as it's looking more and more likely that he has nothing to do with terrorism and is actually a mental health situation. (If the Dutch reporting I've read to be believed)

I do worry about someone that murders 3 people at random.

Your comment reminds me of arguments I've had online with muslims saying "terrorists are nothing to do with islam, they're mental"....hmmm there seems to be an awful lot of muslims with mental health issues.

That being said, I don't have enough info on gokmen tanis to have an informed opinion anyway.

Less than 4 , mental health issues?
Greater than 3 terrorism?

Sorry I can't keep up with the goal posts

Adern doing the right thing by starving him of publicity

they should have a media blackout on the trial as well

dont give him the platform to preach

did you all light a candle, hold hands and sing when the thread title was changed - you know, pointless support of a pointless action. i love it, GD habitually derides those who do silly things like change their facebook profile to show support in the event of a tragedy. then proceeds to do the same thing. brilliant. lets all not say his name and no one will ever do a bad thing again. i really wish there was a thumbs up emoji...or an 'ok' one might do !

Which one?
There have been several "Bloody Sunday"s since 1940...
really? please identify for me. I've only ever been aware of the Bloody Sunday of 1972. there are a couple of other incidents in Irish history that have on occasion been called Bloody Sunday' but they predate 1940

Until it was mentioned in this thread I had no idea about any association between White Power and the OK symbol.

If you don't waste time in the cesspits of the internet then it still just means OK.
same. in fact my eldest child came home from nursery school last week and was all pleased with herself as she had been shown how to make the 'ok' sign.....guess her and her teacher are racist/supremacists

stop defending his actions
who's defending his actions. have you rtm'd their posts. i fully expect the mods to be perma banning anyone defending this nutjob.....unless i am misunderstanding and you are suggesting people stop defending someone elses actions?

Also people that actively seek out these sort of videos are properly messed up in the head and need to seek professional help ASAP
why? just because you don't feel up to watching it?

nobody should want to watch it.
why?

why?

I was pointing out why the old thread got shut down as people were insulting people and some people were trying to justify why he did it.

And as to your question, I think anybody who wants to view a video of somebody in real life shooting men women and children, sometimes at point blank range, arent quite right in the head. If its for professional reasons than that is unavoidable. But for general public, i don;t think its right.

i don;t think its right.

I guess you've never slowed down to get a gander at an accident on the road then ? because it's exactly the same morbid curiosity so if you have you're a hypocrite and if you haven't, well we can only aspire to be as pious and mighty as yourself

Fortunately though we live in a relatively free society where you can't force your opinion on others, not yet anyway so it's irrelevant what you think is right or wrong

It only takes the front few cars to slow down for an accident and then everyone else is forced to slow down, it's not a conscious choice for most.

Plus, that's an accident and you don't hope to see people hurt (well, I certainly don't), you are mainly trying to work out what happened.

Watching a video like that, you know you are going to watch innocent people being killed.

We watch innocent people being killed throughout our lives. You never seen Hiroshima footage?

nowt wrong with my google.....identify for me which of those have been in the news recently?
Nothing wrong with yer Google, so Google that yourself. It's all over the news, supposedly...!!

you going to keep up the pretence that you don't know which Bloody Sunday the person you quoted was referring to?
Of course I ******* know which one. It's called being blatantly sarcastic and mildly smart.
Are you going to keep up the pretence that you had no idea, or will you switch tack and try to blame me for your mis-step?

I've seen the atom bomb going off in archive footage, not necessarily at Hiroshima though...

Again, watching a bomb go off and knowing it killed people you can't see 74 years ago is not the same as watching 15 minutes of a guy gunning down loads of people!

Oh it’s ok then because you can’t see them. I bet you watched loads of footage of 9/11, including people jumping out of buildings to their deaths.

Ive slowed down to gander to see what has gone on thats all. Big difference there. What you are advocating is that you are sat at home and somebody tells yous there are 50 bodies on the road, all dead and bleeding everywhere and you get in your car and drive there to go look at them. That is what I would consider as not being normal behavior.

I remember the planes hitting the buildings, I remember the horrible (live) footage of people making the decision to jump out of the buildings. I've never watched it since

It was on the news, I didn't seek it out. Social media didn't exist then.

watching 15 minutes of a guy gunning down loads of people!

People pay money to go watch that in the cinema, how is it any different watching a real massacre as opposed to a movie massacre which are generally way more graphic than reality

This is fine but don't dare show reality, no, you must be sick in the head to want look at something real over fantasy

Ive slowed down to gander to see what has gone on thats all.

So you're a hypocrite, I'm sure there are people who get kicks watching people be murdered, but the majority watch because they want to see first hand the reality to see "what has gone on" that's all
