Will no one rid us of this foolish woman?

I'm not too bothered about people drinking on the tube unless they are causing problems. But as mentioned politicians should be held to a higher standard. She has also consistently shown ineptitude which is concerning, given she has a reasonable chance of getting into a position of power.

I am in no way her biggest fan, but this is an utterly stupid and pathetic thing to be dragged over coals for. We’ve all had a sup on the train. Not as if she was downing 2 litres of cider. She was sipping on a little tin of mojito.

Some people seriously need to get a life.
No we really haven't. Most people can wait till their journey is finished

Feel much the same.. I cant stand the woman and am genuinely terrified of the prospect of her and Corbyn being in any genuine position of power in this country, however its hard to get worked up over someone having a drink on a train...

To be fair if this is the stuff she had to put up with day to day then too right she's gonna have a drinking problem.

Offer help or leave people be, don't be judgy *****

You're right, it's not a big thing in itself, but she's got a very long and still growing list of ill conceived opinions, actions and statements.

You'll find plenty of us condemning her idiotic politics and statements (the Chairman Mao one springs to mind). We just don't give much of a damn about her having a drink. Frankly, drunk or sober I can't really see it making much difference to her competence myself.

As to the law? It's one of those laws of convenience designed to make it more easy for police to move on or drag off the wrong sort of people. There are plenty of actual laws that can be used if someone is drunk and disorderly (don't quite recall the name of them, though). But a flat ban like this lets transport police kick people off or arrest them without the necessity of any actual direct harm caused. It was never meant to be applied to MPs or other Middle or Upper class people.

When you're so desperate for alcohol at 1pm that you have to drink it in an area where it is explicilty prohibited by law, it is probably time to seek help for your issues.

Apart from a few posts I am pleasantly surprises by GD today.

Thank you. I might leave GD now and just look back on this happy memory of it not turning into a thinly veiled racist attack on a minority.

Best comment so far for me from the story has to be.

BY the way for those that dont know. The Mojito cans are small like energy drinks or the cans you get (?) on planes, not big cans like Tennents. Now that would have been a story.

I wonder if Diane will be getting a job with M&S after she steps down or at least a life times supply of Mojito. This must have done quite a lot for their sales of this product especially in this weather.

What happened to the free speech, liberty lot that would moan at this law?

But no, a certain someone they don’t like did something that shouldn’t be illegal so **** them and everyone else in this particular moment?

Thankfully at least some of them are being consistent.

These ***** break laws at a whim anyway, the cocaine concentrations just outside Westminster on the Thames is gloriously high. But let’s abuse a fat lady with health problems because she’s a bit dim.

I defended her earlier, and still would. But can you imagine if someone else on the other end of the spectrum was caught doing something similar? Can you imagine the outrage if Nigel Farage was photographed drinking a can of Stella on the tube? I love to see how both ends of the extreme spectrum get triggered over things that don't really matter. :D

Indeed. It doesn't matter who's doing it, it's a stupid article and a non-story.

The kind of people who like Farage wouldn't care.

I agree.
