Is Virgin Mobile down?

Yep. In that situation I’d always have a backup PAYG on a different network just in case.
 
Nice. So they’re going to offer compensation. My tariffs only £4 a month so I’ll hardly be in the money lol :p

Someone reply to this thread when the details of the compensation are released. Just incase I miss it :cool:

Just had a text message.We’re all being given an extra 5GB of data to use.

But this can only be used this Sunday (when most people are at home on their Wi-Fi) :rolleyes:
 
Classic virgin media customer service at play there then!

If I try to log into the mobile site at the moment I just get a message:

Please give one of our team a call on 789 from your Virgin Mobile phone or 0345 6000 789* from any other phone and we'll do our best to help

*Please note standard charges apply. Please check with your network operator for rates.

Instead of the normal account page with zero explanation as to why I'm seeing that message.
 
The extra 5GB will really come in handy for me too.

^^ To be fair it is one reason I'm using VM - for now they are quite reasonable in terms of how data rollover and bonuses are handled, etc. last two months I've had 160GB data available despite moderately heavy usage.
 
5GB extra data for one day? How is that compensation, majority of customers won't even notice it. I'd of preferred a 50p refund compared to that
 
What the hell is going on? Sunday i got the 5gb added, i went out in the afternoon and an hour later i got a message to say i had used all of that data. Today i started with 2gb of data and have wifi at work, on my way home i browsed these forums and then i get a message to say i have no data left?!?!

I barely use 5gb a month usually so i have no idea whats going on?!
 
It doesn’t have a daily breakdown, there is no way i have used 2gb in an hour browsing here and reddit.

If you login on the Virgin Mobile site it should have a usage breakdown under the billing section at the bottom.

EDIT: Won't tell you what app used the data but might help to see how much was used at what time, etc.

According to that i have used 50mb today including 25 at 3am when i was asleep and on wifi. I also started the day with 2gb so somethings a bit fishy, will call them tonight.

So I have had a chat with them and they claim i used 2.47gb of data at 5pm while i was at work and on wifi. Apparently your mobile data is sirll in use even if wifi is on, interesting because i have never used that much data while on wifi before hmmm..
