AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

Guessing the early "leaks" of a 16 core AM4 part were false then considering it wasn't mentioned :(

My guess would be the 16c is being held in reserve as a sucker punch for when Intel announce their 10c Comet Lake. Intel don’t have a counter until 2021/22 so I would guess AMD are going to have the multithreaded advantage for sometime.

The godlike has always been expensive, it was $1200 overhere when the z390 godlike came out
The godlike is usually the most high end board on the market

Honestly looks like I'll wait for the Zen2+ going on the information so far. Not that Zen 2 bad, more that my Threadripper is still good for what I need.

Hmmm.. what to do, was really hoping for a 16 core processor, might come at a later stage.

Should I just upgrade my i5-2500k for a 12 core or see if they do bring a 16 core out.

If the 12 core is around £500 not sure I want to wait and spend more for a potential 16 core!

Or, it may or may not be that it's not available at launch

Yes, I think they're being quite tactical. Not showing their hand too early, keep something back to counter Intel. I think you'll see the 5GHz clocks with Ryzen 4000 but wouldn't be surprised if Ryzen 3000 overclocks to 5GHz.

It will be very interesting to see what difference there is between the 8C single CCD chips and the 12C dual CCD ones regarding latency.

Also interesting was the next GN video, where he is clearly signposting the 16core part for the top boards... Shame not to see it here, I do think there is more in the tank... But then I expected another 200mhz on these boost speeds before the hype train and leaks blew up the expectation.

So if the CPU release date is 7/7, when do we think mobo will be released. I'd like to read reviews about them before ordering (although i realise the this wied thing called patience:p).

What I expect to happen is when the 16c parts are released, the other prices will fall. That 12c is damn tempting though. Interested to see what Navi will bring but not expecting much.

All I know is, my video render time would massively reduce compared to my 1600.

I imagine the same would happen.
Ryzen 1XXX prices fell quite incredibly.
Ryzen 2XXX prices came in at a brilliant point tok
