12-CORE GAMING CPU

Fair play.

I'm still willing to bet the 3800x is faster in games. She definitely gave that impression. I mean im kind of hoping its the case anyway. Because if the 12 or 16 part is faster in gaming then I will feel obliged to buy it and I don't want to spend that much.

Well I have the funds so I’m hoping the 3900x is faster in games...so stop being selfish just because you’re poor :p

if the clocks are higher , im willing to lean towards it being faster. intercore latency aside .

Lol. I don't have much disposable cash I'll give you that. But I don't care two jotts. It's all about net worth. I will get my payday one day. I'm sitting pretty enough

I'm desperate to upgrade.
But at the same time when I objectively look at what I've got most people would kill for a 2700 and Vega 64 rig.

It's all about the hobby aspect for me I think.

Decision made. Going to get B450 MSI Tomahawk and 16GB of 3200 DDR4 now and get the best Zen2 chip I can afford when they're available for order. Even B550 will be way more expensive than B450 and I won't benefit from PCI4.

im tempted to do the same, if i see a good deal on a 2700x i may just jump.

Yeah I doubt the 3900x being slower in games than the 3800x but maybe it’s not an extra $100 faster over the the 3800x...

As in price v performance...in games , if that makes sense...:p

Maybe it’s the same as a 3800x in games but with the added cores for productivity usage etc...

Or the extra 100mhz in the 3900x offsets some internal latency :p

My argument with the Mrs, is that its a hobby and im not one for going out on the lash every weekend so i can justify it that way. My 1700 is more than capable and will be for some time, but im itching for an upgrade!

I'm rusty on AMD stuff sorry; I imagine the best CPU to be the beefed up version of whatever is in the next PS5. So 8 cores, hyperthreaded?

Currently, besides lower frames some games feel treacle-ish in some scenes. Like Hitman. So I'm more tempted to upgrade 'some time soon'. Intel are supposed to the making a fast CPU next(?) but I will wait and see about that!

maybe the 12c and 16c will be faster for games...if just looking at the average fps...
but probably due to the inter-chiplet ccx latency, their frame rates are going to have lower 0.1/1% lows. just like having sli/crossfire on a cpu lol

why the **** is there no more information on how much motherboards are going to be - given the apparent plethora of them that are going to be available surely there must be pricing floating about somewhere - and not from Billy Liar (adoredTV) or is it a super secret asus, gigabyte et al are keeping as a little surprise!?

no many pages to read through but not sure if this has been posted up.

booth at computex had 3400g installed . as we know, its not Zen2 chip but Zen +. difference from Ryzen 2000 is its a 12nm design made on 12nm node

I think aorus side, its about the same price as z390 - maybe £15 more . UK it all depends on the dollar as all hardware is bought in $$$$$$

i dread to see the price of a fast intel CPU
